Yes their hub and HQ was in BIL from 1978 until 2008(?) when they closed up. They also did a lot of EAS service from a DFW hub in late 90s-early 00s. Also had places they connected to majors (GEG, MSP, PDX, DEN) at various times.

TVF is an EAS city, so it is supported by the federal government.
I am not sure how any of these EAS locales can just be axed 100%. Seems odd but who knows anymore.

It’s been a few years since WN has served any of these markets.


WN flew BOI-GEG up until this April, and continuously before that from 5/95. But it only lasts for Aug then gone 4 good after that.

Empire Airlines served PDX from OLM and AST, plus AST from HQM and SEA with SWM IIIs in summer '93. I think it only lasted that one season as they retreated then quit pax service in '95 to focus on the flying for FedEx.

Also WestCoast/AirWest did BKE-ALW.

Reno Air was more than a feeder carrier. Having flown MD-80/87/90s to SEA ANC FAI PDX RDM RNO LAS TUS ABQ DEN COS ORD DTW MSP SFO SJC DRO GPT PIE IFP MCI LAX SNA ONT YVR among others over their existence. Only reno Air Express was a feeder and it was fairly small. They were a decent sized operation....

Is there still a minimum number of flights a station needs to have in order to be staffed by full time WN employees? For ramp service. Flew them PHX-OGG-PHX in 2006ish on 757-300. nothing sticks out as unique. Redeye back was usual. Interior was typical for the time 757 layout.
As for WN, IIRC, they just rec'd some ATA assets, not a/c or the like.

BOI has sidewalks right up to it, and it is easy to access.
SAT has to be the most in-town airport with zero sidewalk access to it. Definitely not pedestrian friendly. Not even from old employee lot was there a walkway...
As for SLC, one can take the light rail.... :)

Well they lose Clovis, NM soon.
I have only flown on them once (OAK-Merced, CA) and it was a wonderful, yet short experience.

The 160 number includes Alaska, which accounts for 46 of the airports by my count. This is huge for Contour, but also significant for Cape Air and Boutique as well. It's still problematic for the "low bid" Skywest cities (like CMX, ESC, and DDC) but being able to essentially cut unnecessa...
