Aero.de reports that the A220s - if ordered . would be part of Cityline. that would make tremendous sense IMO, so are we looking at 220-100s? Cityline operates A319s too, so I guess -300s would be the most logical. A221s would be a surprise, but LH is known for surprise orders sometimes ;) I think ...

B744 D-ABVU and D-ABVZ are on their way to XMN for maintenance right now. Seems to act as a reminder that there are lots of international MROs that can do 744 maintenance at low prices, A380 less so. Lufthansa has flown their last A380 in FRA to desert storage in Teruel, Spain - who would have thought then years ago that the 747-400 will last longer with LH than the A380.

Some might argue it was the Vickers VC 10 that was the original design or even on a smaller scale the Lockheed Jetstar which had its first flight in 1957....

As to the reason why LH brings back the 744 and not the A380. LH has the 747-8 still in the fleet and it makes more sense to bring back a type where they still have personal and infrastructure for. Reactivating a small subfleet and bring back all the crews, equipment etc would cost a lot more....

Since the A320Neo is also getting the raccon mask - any chance we will see it with the 787/777X as well as part of the new livery?

Also any idea when the first 787 will be in the paint shop? I guess right now, they are being checked thoroughly which will take a few weeks time....

For their A32x fleet LH group has introduced standardized seats. Part of the idea of homogenous seating is in part due to the transferring of aircraft between individual parts of Lufthansa Group. Given Swiss has just announced they are retrofitting all their B77Ws with premium economy I’d say that is doubtful. I think they are refitting with the standard LH group seat, so I wouldn't think too much of that. Sounds like it would not happen overnight, so it could happen to keep all 777s at LH ...

The reg's have been announced according to Lufthansa Fleet Group Website First 5 will be D-ABPA D-ABPB D-ABPC D-ABPD D-APBE and continue for any others which arrive later in the delivery process. I can not unterstand why so many always bring up the A330NEO - not only here but especially on German aviation sites - LH wants to have less types not more. They have ordered the 787-9 so no need for the A330NEO.

With 777X, A350 and 787-9 they will have a great fleet, covering all needs.
