Re: Feeling Overwhelmed

As someone above me said, look at military. I did 4 years active duty and now uncle Sam is footing the bill for my flight training. 4 years may seem like a long time but, in the grand scheme of things it is not. You can realistically join when you are 28/29 and you'll be out when you're 33. If you h...

Re: Air Astana EMB 190 Squawked 7700 after erratic flight; landed safely

In the Youtube video above, at 1:43, what’s that cockpit sound that can be heard in the background of the pilot’s transmission? Edit: at 3:30 I’m hearing a background sound, not sure if it’s a cockpit sound, but the best way I can describe it is a rattlesnake-like sound. I hear it right at 3:30 and...

Re: AS Horizon Cancellations due to Pilot Shortage

This has been discussed a lot at the university I go to in my aviation classes. The projections show it only getting worse. We already had a few of the regionals come to our classes to try and recruit us once we graduate. Luckily, I did the military first, so I have the GI bill to cover the majority...

Re: KLM 747 retirement schedule

I had already scanned thru that post however it doesnt answer my question. Is ORD-AMS still a 747 if not what cities in the US still see the 747 so I can plan my route. Yup, ORD-AMS is still a 744, 744M to be exact. Flew ORD-AMS-ORD this past December, first time on a 744, hopefully I can catch it ...

RE: Man Chokes Woman Over Reclining Seat.

I flew KLAX-KORD-KLAX a few months ago on AA. Both ways it was on one of their newer 738s. And I noticed that their reclining seats only recline the upper half of the seat. So your tray table doesn't move, as it is attached to the stationary lower p...

Idk about it being an American thing. Have never heard it on a US flight. However, I do remember the whole cabin clapping after flights to/from Poland on LOT. Great memories!!

Once the merger is fully complete, and they are under one certificate, is there any news as to what the airlines Europe structure will look like? Will they keep the destinations that US had that AAL did not, such as Munich or Brussels? Adam

Transatlantic Without INS/GPS/IRU

How did aircraft make it across the Atlantic without any of the aboveentioned systems? For instance, the early 737s didn't have any form of INS (I could be wrong on this), how would say, Lufthansa, get theirs delivered across from the US? Thank you

737NG MCP Options

Just a quick question in regards to new 737NG's. From what I understand, the Collins MCP is standard now on all 737NG's coming off the line. My question is, can an airline choose to have the Honeywell <acronym title="Macapa - Int...

Thanks
