Re: Captain Al Haynes has Flown West (UA232)

Not sure why people wouldn’t be respectful. Is that a thing now? Unfortunately, it is. But, I am hopeful we wouldn't see disrespect to Al Haynes. He was a wonderful inspiration to many. “He ate my crew meal one time” -Somebody, probably. In all seriousness, I was fortunate enough to meet Al at one ...

Re: UA 232 Details

I’m somewhat surprised United hasn’t given SUX another go. I think they would have no trouble filling a CRJ-200 twice a day to Denver. American Eagle has 2 flights per day to Chicago and it’s been increased to 3. Also they recently added a DFW flight so the loads can’t be that terrible.

No they did at one point. In fact there is a photo somewhere of a 727 taking off over the remains of 232.

UA 232 Details

My aviation career would never have happened without the crash of United Airlines flight 232. I met Al Hanes in high school and he is one of the most charismatic pilots that I’ve ever met. Although many people died in the crash, the fact that so many people survived is a miracle in and of itself. Ho...

I feel like WN in DSM is like that girl that you've been dating for around two years. It's either put up or shut up time. Either go all in or break-up. IMO I think WN has done quite well in DSM and they have the potential to be ever better as long as they commit to more flights than 3. It's hard to ...
