I think the idea of the opening post is not too far fetched.
LH for example is negotiating for delaying/ converting their B779 order to B77F with deliveries starting end of this year!

So why does the a/c have the additional (optional) door 4 (5 pairs in total)?
The latest renderings of the LH show the 4-door option and it has been reported in some interview, too, if memory doesn't fool me.

I just passed the rebranded LH town office in ZRH. It perfectly resembles the new design. No more yellow, therefore the white crane on dark blue/ almost black.
