I think the difference here is that they are laying off the workers here, then hiring replacements in Gurgaon, and all the while lobbying for an extension of CARES Act funding. No way should they get another cent. If CARES Act is extended, any layoffs would be postponed as airlines would not be all...Jump to post

Looks like the first pilot to exit used the rope had the leg injury. By the time the second pilot was evacuating...Jump to post
Would anyone here consider a Hawaiian vacation in the near future? Definitely. I was looking to rent a beach house on Maui where I could isolate and work remotely, but the State of HI clarified that the 14-day quarantine had to be at a hotel or motel. If the new rules do kick in September, I'm look...Jump to post
A couple of I would devastating tidbit from UA earnings call with relation to AA. We will soon find out how accurate this is. UA shows it's getting 13% of 2019Q2 revenues on 12% of its capacity. On the same slide, AA is showing 11% of revenue on 22% of its capacity. So basically a lot more capacity...Jump to post

Even MDE is hot and high. CLO is perhaps possible.
While we were expecting a smaller United, 36,000 potential furloughs come October 1 is huge.

The rumors turn out to be true SFO-PVG will stop at ICN for crew change. I didn't put much stock in those rumors when they first surfaced. I thought the crew change would take place at NRT like we are already doing for our cargo flights, but there are times when rumors turn out to be true. Passenge...Jump to post

Having said that, TSA numbers show this week is above last week's holiday numbers. Today is still up about 8% rolling 7-day average passenger count week over week. Above Memorial Day week. Not as versed on the debt/finance side... While there’s been a lot of focus on Ch 11 bankruptcy, at some point, is there any alternate scenario where lenders agree to restructure the debt outside of bankruptcy? Looks like Houston is getting snubbed by many of the former int'l carriers that once operated there and yet DFW is seeing several airlines such as Qatar, Qantas, Emirates, JAL scheduling their returns. Totally understand why everyone is discounting the original blog post. Too speculative and sensational... This is indicative of absolutely nothing as there are no U.S. carriers flying US50 non-stop to MNL. It's oft-repeated, but some are slow to learn - MNL is a trash (yield) destination.
From the same source as the CEB-LAX relaunch, PR to start MNL-SEA from May 2, 2020. Keep in mind there is no reliable confirmation for this. CEB-LAX and MNL-SEA are now published in OAG. Both flights are 3X weekly. Being discussed here: https://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1438419Jump to post
I’ve heard that at least in the USA, the military is not graduating as many pilots as they did previously. This is contributing to the potential pilot shortage in the future. In light of this, many of the major airlines have created programs to recruit and train future pilots. Some of the programs r...Jump to post

As you read & review the document for the T4 airside redevelopment, you'll notice that there is a provision for a bus gate abutting the ground level of (new) Gate 43. Of course flights to Philippines is low yielding. Flights to all of Asia is low yielding thanks to CN3. I totally agree that the traffic in the loop at LAX is out of hand... especially with the holidays around the corner.
With that said, the new rules smack of elitism since TCPs (executive cars and limos) will be allowed to pick up at the curb.
