Re: FAA wants to know what actions Airlines are going to do to curb unruly passenger incidents

In my professional opinion, it has to be handled by existing law enforcement. Deputizing airline employees won't do a thing except breed continued animosity toward airline employees. Perhaps there needs to be a kumbaya moment between airlines and police forces around the country to make sure everyo...

Re: B737MAX Still considered for IAGs future fleet

If the uncontested LOI was alive and well, then IAG could just firm it. But that hasn't happened, and now they've started a new competition. It's not unreasonable to say the original LOI is dead and buried. It's very possible that it's expired anyway, as it was signed over two years ago. That makes...

Re: Airbus 32X NEO program: why no length adjustment?

Designers talk about "balanced designs." Every design involves some tradeoffs, but there is an optimum length for a given wing and engine. Anything other than this optimum is less than 100% efficient and must be justified by some other factor. For the L1011-500, 747SP, and A310-300, the r...

Re: Airbus 32X NEO program: why no length adjustment?

I think the bias of the author was indicated by identifying the 737-800/MAX 8 as being the perfect length. Well, he does have a point from the max pax for 4 FA perspective. But then again that is a perfectly valid argument against making the A319 longer. Best regards Thomas There are also perfectly...

I'm sorry, the FAA (part of who's job is aviation safety) wants to know what the carriers are going to do to curb passenger behavior?? 90% of disruptive passengers aren't arrested so unless the FAA is going to provide enhanced guidance and funding to airport police, nothing is going to change.
