Re: 757s in Vail

I remember flying out in March of '05 or '06 after Cystic Fibrosis Celebrity Ski event (which AA was the title sponsor and flight provider) and pulling up to EGE with 5 or 6 AA 757 in row, waiting to take all the participants back home. I once had a photo of them lined up, glistening in the morning ...

Re: Airline Service Dead Zones

How about ACK? In the summer there are some flights to major east coast cities, but nothing in the winter. BOS or PVD are the "closest" airports and both are a 1 hour ferry ride and 1.5 hour drive or a flight on Cessna 402.

RE: Turboprops Set For A Big U.S. Comeback?

I don't think turboprops will make much of a comeback in the US and it has almost nothing to do with the airlines themselves. Instead, the TSA will kill the market for props. Since they fly a little bit slower than a jet, the time di...

RE: Southwest.com Down?

I have been trying to check-in for a flight since around 1:45pm EDT and it won't send me a boarding pass. I called and the wait time then was around 65min for a call back. While I understand the they are having unusually high traffic for their site, it is unacceptable for passengers to not be able t...

RE: JetBlue Starts JFK-HYA

As a Cape Codder, this is great news! I am excited to see the E190s coming in low over the Staples parking lot.

I think this will be a big hit with a lot of young professional living in NYC with family/friends to visit on the Cape for the weekends.

RE: Why Did AA Scrap BOS-LHR?

It makes sense that BA took this over when the JV came online. It must have been expensive for AA to keep that 777 base open (and latter on the 767/757 ...

I am sad to see this happen. I drove past it on the way to SW Florida and didn't have time to stop in, but I was planning on visiting in on the drive north in the spring. I guess that won't be happening now.
