It most definitely was a DC-10.
I have always been intrigued by JAT’s history. I was going back memory lane, I would have only been like 7 years old. In May 1992 my family and I flew JAT Airways from Toronto to Beirut just before the Yugoslav war started stopping all flights. Our return trip JAT flights were stopped and came back ...Jump to post

Wynyard is a good area. If you go to Taronga Zoo, the ferry is the best, quickest and most scenic way to get there. But buy your Zoo entry tickets online or at Circular Quay - before you get to the zoo. If you get there without a ticket you will have to catch the bus to the main entry or walk to th...Jump to post
If you're based in the city then the nearby neighbourhoods of Surry Hills, and Darlinghurst are filled with cultural institutions, amazing food and wonderful coffee. Just go for a walk in the old winding streets and you're sure to find some gems. The Grounds at Alexandria is beautiful and extremely...Jump to post
The main issue is is it on the one ticket? You'll be good if it is. Otherwise check if there's an interline agreement for baggage. You don't want to be collecting you bags and check in again. There's no time for that. Yes it is one ticket. Baggage will directly connect onto AC. Ticket is booked. Ho...Jump to post

And do have dinner here:
And certainly go to the Opera. Especially good if you can get the backstage tour as well as the performance.
Just a word of warning, it will be the middle of our winter, while mild compared to European and North American winters, it can still get quite chilly, especially the mornings. As such, Bondi Beach will not give you any extra "sight seeing" at this time of year, but is still well worth th...Jump to post
Go to the Featherdale Wildlife Park. A lot of the animals freely roam around and can be pet, held etc... Its AUD20 to get in and its worth it! If youre looking for cheap souvenirs, the Paddy Market in the mall in China town is totally worth it and many vendors are willing to negotiate on price. I g...Jump to post
Hello! I am traveling to New Zealand in 4 weeks. I have time to do a 5 full day stopover in Sydney. I have never been to Sydney let alone Australia. Any advice what to do in 5 days. I know it will be rushed, is it worth maybe taking a flight to Melbourne and splitting the 5 days between the 2? Thank...Jump to post
Anybody have experience connecting onto another flight via Sydney? I am looking booking a flight AKL-SYD-YVR for the return trip. It would be Air New Zealand connecting to Air Canada via SYD. There is is 1hr 35 mins to connect. Is that enough time or am I risking it?
Emirates flys between Chirstchurch and Sydney with their A380. Which is their last A380 Trans Tasman service (although theirs some word on that being axed at some stage). otherwise theirs Qantas A330's, Air NZ 777,787 and Latam 787 between Sydney and Auckland (along with a320s and 737). Cool, thank...Jump to post
I am planning a trip to New Zealand in July and may add Australia as well. I think Emirates used to operate A380 flights from Auckland to Sydney but dropped them. Is there any other A380 service between the 2 countries one could book? I would like experience the A380.
I personally believe you should display them. We buy them to enjoy them, look at them. If you take good care of them, they will be fine, especially the diecast models. You could always put them in a glass case. The plastic models will tend to turn “yellow “ after a while exposed to sun. As far a val...Jump to post
Every airline is going to have ups and downs with service. People like to complain. People do seem to like to bash Air Canada a lot for some reason. I have flown them both domestic and international multiple times. I was pleased with the service each time. I can’t say anything bad. I have even been ...Jump to post
We went this in early August this year and it was great. Since it is not the tourist season, there were no lines anywhere. Queenstown gets cold but you are from Canada so you will probably be in your shorts :-) North Island is nice, but South Island is beautiful, especially Queenstown, Wanaka and Mi...Jump to post
My preference is to avoid NZ in June, July, and August. Too wet. Some of the best tourist attractions are in the South Island (around Queenstown) and unless you are going for the skiing, too cold. If you can travel any months other than southern winter I think you would have a better time. Dependin...Jump to post
I arrived here in NZ in late June earlier this year prepared for "winter", and the first thing I did when exiting the airport was take my coat and jumper off - it was warm. Probably about as warm as May in the UK. It's been a wet winter here, but not a cold one - when it's not been rainin...Jump to post
Hello! I am hoping to get some advice from anyone living in New Zealand or travelled to in July. I will have time to travel in July and was hoping to do New Zealand, but I understand July would be the middle of winter. How is winter in New Zealand? Can I still experience places like the glow worm ca...Jump to post

This flight I believe would cater to mainly the big Lebanese / Arab population of Detroit and surrounding area. They traditionally always go back to Lebanon for a couple months in the summer when kids are done school. Definitely the busiest season. My guess would be not evough demand during winter.Jump to post
. I just hope they don't become as bland as JAL or CES. Fair point but the Jal livery was quite well received by customers and staff I thought. It's basic but looks minimal and controlled and won't date. It was introduced when jal really needed a stable identity and direction I agree. As minimal th...Jump to post
Airlines have gone from cheatlines in the past to eurowhites like Air France and the likes of China Eastern. What's the next phase of airline liveries? Will cheatlines ever make a comeback (not as a single retro livery)? Maybe we will see more colour like WOW and S7?Jump to post

So BA will have 3 YYZ departures this summer on some days, or is the LGW replacing the second LHR on the days it operates? By the sound of things yes BA will have 3 YYZ departures this summer. Doesn't BA currently do 17 weekly lights out of LHR in the summer? We could possibly see 4 BA flights on s...Jump to post
Maybe one day in the future the once "no go" wing surface will match the rest of a livery and be fully colored as the belly- like dark blue, etc??? Lufthansa paints the wings white, the upper surface at least, matching the white fuselage, while the lower surface is painted grey like the b...Jump to post
This just occurred to me, is Alitalia the only airline in the world that puts its logo on the wings surface of their aircraft? They have been doing it for a long time. Why don't other airlines do this? I can't imagine it affecting performance in any way? Do you think that wing markings have in any ...Jump to post
