RE: Bangkok Photo Opportunities

In February 2004 a Airside Visit was available at a cost. My understanding is that this is now not available. As I will be in Bangkok early next week are there other locations in addition to the viewing deck in Terminal 1?

I would also appreciate an Email Malcolm

Thanks
Neville

Focal Blade Assistance

With some rejections of photographs taken with a 20D for being too soft I have changed from using PS7 USM and have tried Focal BLade Expert Mode. While I'm confident that the greater control over sharpening will improve the result...

Auto Select

Since downloading photos 5 hours ago I am now experiencing problems with the auto select. Attempts to manually select Location and aircraft using the drop down menus not progressing to the first level. Should I bury my computer?

RE: Question About The Q

The addition of 3 photographs (12 to 15) has just moved my position from 5709 & 956 back to 9014 & 1587 after 5 days in the queue.

Any comments please from the crew about an apparent computer problem.

RE: Canon 10D - Lens Compatibility

I use Tokina lens with my 10D
19mm-38mm & 80mm-400mm

The results are better than with the Canon SLR cameras I was using and the acceptance level re airliners is a high percentage.

RE: Canon EOS D60, And 10D

I can't compare the two cameras, my concern was the quality of my existing EF lenses. Prospective buyers may be interested in the two very early examples take with my brand new EOS 10D.

<font color="#EEEEEE" size="1" face="ARIAL,...

Minolta Dimage7i

I'm contemplating purchasing a Minolta Dimage 7i, a SLR-Type 5 Megapixel camera with a 28 - 200 zoom The move from my EOS Canon cameras to digital is for convenience as Perth is not the recipient of a large number of aircraft and I have to wait several weeks before completing a film. My first choice...

RE: Long Queue And My Suggestion

Johan The implemented process will hold photographers from uploading on a regular basis unless they are 100% sure their photos are "HQ" So the process is fair and should improve the overall quality. It also explains why I moved from 840 photographs and 81 photographers ahead of me to 3493 and 725 a ...

Hi Stephen I agree with Ivica comments and also use Sensia 100ASA Slide Film I found it necessary to use I/350 to compensate for the 5.6 aperture

Click for large version
<IMG ...

RE: Slide Scanning Help

Eric I'm using a Nikon Coolscan IV (three weeks old) to scan Sensia 100 slides which I have processed and cut into strips of 6. The camera is a Canon with normally a 80-400 Tokina. The aperture of 5.6 at max is a problem and I found that 1/350 can be used. Scanning. This is what I do Preview 1 Crop ...

Andrew Just discovered how to attach photos. The light was poor in my opinion in both cases. They were taken at 400mm 1/500 F5.6 with the Tokina.

Click for large version
<IMG ...

RE: Tokina AT-X 80-400 F4.5-5.6 (opinions)

Andrew The lens I wanted was A Canon Zoom to 400 but the price of A$6000 for a large aperture version was OUT. So I purchased the Tokina 80-400 for A$800. It is heavy and I'm still playing with speeds of 1/250 and 1/350 at the 400 limit when light conditions are poor since I'm using 100ASA Sensia. I...

RE: HP ScanJet 5200C Users (or Just HP)

The 5200 is available in Australia. I have recently purchased the HP 5300 a 1200dpi scanner. The default scan of 150 dpi will work with closeup photos of top quality. For the majority of my photos I use 600 dpi .This may change as I become more proficient with the scanner. I then use Photoshop and s...
