Is Delta PDX-LHR never coming back in the near future due to BA? If so, is there a realistic chance of PDX-CDG this year? Also, any chance of Dallas non-stop from them from PDX? PDX-LHR is not scheduled to return on DL and likely won’t given BA’s presence in the market. PDX-CDG is unlikely imo. PDX...

Jump to postI couldn't see any discussions on PDX-AMS by DL in this topic. But, it looks like it is back from 6/1. Actually, it’s back from May 6th at 3x weekly and is upgraded to daily service in June. Flights are on an A330-200 but I expect DL will switch to a -300 eventually. Thanks for the update/clarifica...

Jump to postSome good news: The Lufthansa feeder flight agreement for Condor at FRA has been renewed. This means that Condor now has feed on both ends once again. At FRA with LH/other DE partners and at PDX with AS. The flights likely would've been empty if this agreement wasn't in place. That's great. This gi...
Jump to postHappy to see the BA LHR=PDX flight announcement. I am glad it's year round. Let's see what DL does. I still hope that, if they make a move, they do some PDX=CDG.
Thank You, I am meeting up with five half brothers & sisters I never knew existed until a few months ago in Dublin. Even if you disagree with me that’s fine, we can have a conversation about the subject, but no worries. I feel a CDG flight on AF or DL would take away the connecting traffic that...
Jump to postWe are going April 12th & it is scheduled to be an Airbus A-333, I think it switches April 1st or so. Trying Comfort plus this time. CDG is a fantasy IMO. Have a nice trip. Please don't think I am arguing against your comment on CDG. I am asking this because I don't know enough history. Was the...
Jump to postRecently did a PDX-AMS as well AMS-PDX trip. Didn't realize they do B767s this time of the year. The flight was full on both directions, including the Premium seats.
Here is the customary note, when will PDX get CDG direct connection?
Has anyone else noticed how much Delta or the Port is investing in advertisements for the PDX-LHR flight? I have seen many billboards around the city, commercials, promos with local news stations and advertisements on magazines. I really hope they do very well on this route to make it year round. L...
Jump to postNo dumb questions here, the proposal would leave HND as the sole gateway to Portland, so NRT would be eliminated. I am unsure why so many people feel as if DL should or is going to get the lions share of the slots several carriers applied for. Thanks for your response. If this materializes, then it...

Jump to postI know I vent here a lot, but, once again, lack of Asia flight to a hub is hurting me... Just had to book PDX-SEA-ICN-XXX, and HKG-SEA-PDX. Jump to postPDX Portland International Airport Wow, that's great for PDX! The PDX-MEX on AM is gone, but should be more than offset by PDX-LHR going daily between May and October this year. What's the best way to contact DL or PoP to suggest routes or for queries? I couldn't find a direct option with DL and don't see any email address related to this. If anyone has one, and can share, will be appreciated. Thanks. :) Great question...I think more of us should be doing exactly what you ...

Do you get free alcoholic bevs in Delta main cabin on international? I only had fruit juices. :) But I did see people getting Wine and Beer for free as normal. One annoying thing this time was that I felt higher than normal engine noise on the cabin, especially on the A330. I couldn't even hear the...
Jump to postAt a time when IndiGo is scrambling to find whatever 320 it can find to add capacity in Tier 2 markets, Jet has gone the other way and cancelled a whopping 22 daily departures from today: 4x MAA-CJB-MAA, 3x MAA-IXM-MAA, 3x BLR-CJB-BLR, 1x BLR-IXM-BLR. The motto of Jet Airways should be the airline ...
Jump to postI did a PDX-LHR early June for the 1st time. It was a full flight on economy. Meal choice wasn't great but was overall happy with this service. Jump to postDL's PDX-LHR flight has some more connections to India, especially BOM and DEL thru 9W. I agree that a PDX-CDG-PDX flight will have better connections due to ST alliance options. I hope it happens soon. I had the same hope when AF announced SEA, but PDX got nothing after that.
Seems like the airline will Drop Madurai-BLR and continue with IXG-BLR from 14th May Spicejet was in the plan to add a morning BLR-IXM-BLR flight on top of their current mid-day flight. Now, the planned morning flight as well as the current flight is gone between Bangalore-Madurai. Maybe 6E'...

For Europe, yes, I really wish PDX-LHR was year round. I have to go to the UK more and more, and the non-stop is a lot easier than anything else. But, I also know PDX-CDG on Delta provides a ton more connections for SkyTeam. So, I wouldn't be surprised to see that added (even seasonally) on Delta b...
Jump to postIt's definitely possible. I would have hoped that the situation played out similarly to DL/VX to LHR, in the fact that when VX started SEA-LHR, Delta started PDX-LHR. When VS started, DL stopped it between SEA-LHR and started the season PDX-LHR if I am correct. In case of CDG, AF is coming back, th...
Jump to postAny PDX-CDG would likely be Norwegian. If Portland passengers want to realistically have any chance at gaining new nonstops to Europe, we’ll have to stop connecting in SEA and helping fill those planes. It wipes out any incentive for airlines to add at PDX. Better to connect in ORD, YYZ, BOS. Or su...
Jump to postSEA could be another option for the Northwest US, considering the fact that DL has significant presence there.
I hope MAA gets the AMS connection from 9W, not sure how the recently introduced MAA-CDG is doing.
With AF restarting CDG-SEA, is there any realistic chance now for a DL/AF CDG-PDX anymore in the near future? I am not comparing PDX and SEA and I am just wondering about the reduced possibilities now more than in the past.

Jump to postYup, look no further than CJB and TRZ. Both are secondary cities in TN. Both airports acquired international status around the same time. Jump to postIX is increasing it's presence at Madurai from this Summer by adding 3x frequency between Madurai and Singapore, with the flight coming from Cochin.

IX-483 -- SIN 21:15 IXM 23:05 - 00:15 COK 01:00
I believe it will after this next summer season. From my understanding Delta had extended the seasonal flight, to start this March instead of May. But that was cancelled due to Virgin Atlantic 787 engine problems. I read some time ago in another thread that the PDX to LHR flight was changed back to...

Jump to postI doubt it. I would think that DL would announce a summer seasonal PDX-CDG flight rather than increase the frequency of another route. I think for a VERY short period after induction (like couple of months), the CRJ700's did operate DEL-IXM and DEL-CJB non-stop. I remember there was a controversy with PP's daughter(who worked for an IPL team) "hijacking" a CD CRJ for ferrying players leading to the cancellation and rerou...
Jump to postIcelandair has extended their season and only suspends now from 10 January--21 March. One of the LCCs need to operate through the winter. Jump to postI think AI/CD has operated CRJ700's on DEL-IXM non-stop before along with DEL-CJB and DEL-TRZ. The rationale behind inducting CRJ700's at the time was for non-stops on long-thin routes like these. Will mainline AI drop its one-stop via MAA now? IXM has been having direct flights to DEL but only one...

With AMS and NRT in the borderline 90% LF, things are looking really good for PDX international traffic. Hope Paris joins the list soon to provide another option for PDX. And, I hope LH replaces Condor.

Bring on PDX-CDG, way better to get to Africa (AMS is almost useless for that).
That seems like a good LF for a new route. Of course it's the summer time, but this probably shows that PDX can support multiple European destination without much of a problem. Hoping to see a PDX-CDG soon from AF/DL.
