So far CHS isn't 100% confirmed to be affected. I have a flight in from ATL on the 13th and it wasn't part of the travel waiver in place by DL. I bet BOE has a few people keeping a close eye on this.

I just checked the pricing for next week and it's actually quite ok. 301 quid for a non stop LHR-PER is all good on my books. I've done 14 hours in a A340 and it was okay, you kinda go nuts in the last 2 hours but it's not that bad.

16 hours in a 789 without a dry sinus? Sure.

The guy says this happened @Hollywood beach, which would've required FAA/Airport notification as it's right at the end of FLL. So, unless he was flying below 400 feet, then he's at fault there. I assume the helicopter was doing some type of shore line transition through FLL.

I might be naive but I doubt they were actually trying to put the jet flying into the tower. I think they just copied and pasted the jet after cutting it out. Bad taste, but honestly cannot see them being dumb enough to actually put it there on purpose that it was going to fly into it.
