ATL BOM announced by the middle of April. Who's your source for that? We've been hearing rumors about which route and when it will be announced for months now... What makes this rumor credible? Sorry I should've clarified. It's just a guess. If they really are gonna start by end of the year, they h...Jump to post

The rights are ultimately the property of the U.S. govt. I'm fairly sure that a foreign govt can't dictate which carrier uses rights allocated to the United States absent something like anti-trust. US-Japan is an Open Skies market now. ANY carrier can fly 5th freedom ex-NRT. Haneda is a special car...Jump to post
Nice to see PWM get DEN on UA... This route has been talked about for like 10 years.Jump to post
DL probably gets 4, MAYBE 5. 4 is probably all they need...ATL DTW SEA PDX. HNL-NRT could survive on its own as a beach market route. If they got a 5th, it'd be interesting what they decided to do with it. JFK seems like a possible re-entry, but perhaps they'd try and get a slot for SIN/MNL (probabl...Jump to post

You guys are funny. Acting like airlines are sentient beings with morality and conscience, who like high school girls, play games. It’s business. The decision makers and planners at DL, AA, and UA will do what they feel makes the most money. You can’t blame them for trying. Either the DOT says yes ...Jump to post
Hawaiian filed a response with the DOT. Carrier says it supports the notion of gateway flexibility though this needs to be weighed against DOT established process in allocating rights that promote access for all carriers and benefit the public interest. What happened to the Asia network acquired with the NW merge.?You had to NRT JFK,ATL,MSP,DTW,PDX,SEA,LAX,HNL, then connections to BKK,MNL Guam,Saipan etc.Plus the flight to China and Korea. And most of those routes were 747’s did DL make mistakes because fuel wasn’t very high or was it the Japanese...Jump to post
Delta did indeed operate SEAHND the minimum allowed by the rules to keep the slot. Like it or not, they were following the rules. Yes, Delta moved their original HND route from DTW to SEA, but this was with the permission of the DOT. I don't see how people get upset at that. The nighttime HND slots were clearly not working, and the DOT allowed them to find a way to make it work. With SEA-HND, Delta definitely played games, ope...Jump to post

Would love to see DL add PWM MSP, even if it was only summer seasonal. I'd think it'd work well in the summer...
NW used to fly the route premerger.
SIN and MNL are really interesting. SIN has made sense sticking around, and I have to imagine Delta will continue to serve it... could Delta fly 5th freedom ICN-SIN? Not sure that would make sense, but otherwise the only real option would be SEA, and SQ appears to have beaten them to the punch. MNL ...Jump to post
For what it's worth, in the last 12 months available (5/2017-4/2018) MSP-HND is at about a 75% load factor, compared to a Delta 2017 System LF of 86%. Load factor certainly doesn't tell the whole story, but obviously Delta would like to see those HND numbers higher. (It'll be interesting to see what...Jump to post
If successful is consistently having poor loads, sure, it's a success. Airline execs are about the last people to trust when speaking to a local crowd. It's a safe bet to say that MSP-HND is the poorest performing MSP long-haul route, and likely one of the worst performing in the DL system. It only...Jump to post
Delta's happy with MSPHND performance. It's not going anywhere...
Last time, Delta requested LAX, MSP, ATL.
No reason to think ATL wouldn't be #1 next time around.
Speaking as someone who works in an office full of former NWA employees, the vast majority are quite happy with how things are and don't want a union. We've been treated very well and morale is good.Jump to post
THANK YOU, DELTA ! not so much for the ICN-MSP route...... but for "The 220 all-new Main Cabin seats are the widest in the Delta international fleet in a 9-abreast configuration..." really do appreciate you continuing to buck the 10AB trend; but get on the PE train, won't you? Delta only checks pets as baggage now if the passengers are active duty military on relocation orders. They do however, take pets checked as Cargo.
The policy quoted up thread is out of date...Delta doesn't impose date specific restrictions any longer, but does still impose temperature restrictions.
Hey everyone! Just stepped off the first ever Delta A350 flight! I was live blogging it on my website, so I'm going to essentially copy and paste the post from there. Sorry it's not in the traditional TR format... I booked the ticket when it was first announced, and fares were much cheaper out of Ch...Jump to post
Man that was a fun trip! Finished my live blog earlier.
I think I slightly prefer the Suite to the 747/A330...but that's likely because I just got off the flight. The suite isn't cramped at all. Found it plenty comfortable for sleeping, foot space is much, much improved compared to the 767.
Not sure if it's allowed but I'm doing my best to update my blog as we go.

Any Anetters on this inaugural? It would be very welcome to get some unbiased views and opinions of Premium Select and the business class suite as far as the feelings on the 'door', the comfort of the seat and the overall width of the seat. Cool. I would have expected them to use it on a shorter route for the first weeks until the crew is more familiar with it and the second frame has arrived. They will. This is DL first "regular" A350 route. Using the term flight in the title is a little misleading. This is the first route,...Jump to post

As a Delta employee, I'm very excited by this news. ICN is a fantastic airport, and KE's a great airline. I admit though, that I'm sad because I think the writing is on the wall for both MNL and SIN. Assuming DTW does get them as anticipated, do you think NRT-SIN and NRT-MNL will see the A350 in the future?
NRT-SIN used to be the 747, as did NRT-MNL. Hell, MNL was 2x Daily 747 before they axed NGO-MNL.
Both of these are just 763ERs now...a huge loss of seats in the recent past.
Here they are!
