What happened to the Asia network acquired with the NW merge.?You had to NRT JFK,ATL,MSP,DTW,PDX,SEA,LAX,HNL, then connections to BKK,MNL Guam,Saipan etc.Plus the flight to China and Korea. Yes, Delta moved their original HND route from DTW to SEA, but this was with the permission of the DOT. I don't see how people get upset at that. While the first few 777s were retrofitted without C+, the latest, and all future, do have C+ reinstalled. I'd presume the A350s will get updated with C+as well.

SIN and MNL are really interesting. SIN has made sense sticking around, and I have to imagine Delta will continue to serve it... could Delta fly 5th freedom ICN-SIN? For what it's worth, in the last 12 months available (5/2017-4/2018) MSP-HND is at about a 75% load factor, compared to a Delta 2017 System LF of 86%. If successful is consistently having poor loads, sure, it's a success. Airline execs are about the last people to trust when speaking to a local crowd. MSP HND has been successful. When Ed was in town this summer he reiterated, to employees and customers alike, that Haneda has performed well and isn't going anywhere, even with the upcoming ICN and PVG flights.

Can confirm MSP-ICN will be announced tomorrow.

MSP-HND isn't going anywhere (confirmed by Ed). It may have started a bit slow (I non-revved on it a few times when it first started), but it's been performing much, much better lately.

Delta only checks pets as baggage now if the passengers are active duty military on relocation orders. They do however, take pets checked as Cargo.

The policy quoted up thread is out of date...Delta doesn't impose date specific restrictions any longer, but does still impose temperature restrictions.

Best advantage of the DL 777 is it's 9 abreast, and because of that, not awful.

Delta's IFE is good, and having WiFi on a flight that long is worthwhile.

US Airways operated the A319 (Winter upgauge to A321) for many, many years. I saw them my first Winter in PWM in 2008/2009.

The A321 may have been only one day a week, but it was definitely regular.

Man that was a fun trip! :) Finished my live blog earlier.

I think I slightly prefer the Suite to the 747/A330...but that's likely because I just got off the flight. The suite isn't cramped at all. Found it plenty comfortable for sleeping, foot space is much, much improved compared to the 767.

Assuming DTW does get them as anticipated, do you think NRT-SIN and NRT-MNL will see the A350 in the future?

NRT-SIN used to be the 747, as did NRT-MNL. Hell, MNL was 2x Daily 747 before they axed NGO-MNL.

Both of these are just 763ERs now...a huge loss of seats in the recent past.
