Jump to postVery interesting, guess this is a crazy thought but could one then "make" a A330 out of A340 by taking off the 4 hairdryers and putting 2 standard 330 engines under it??? Since A340s have been phased out en masse without that 'modification' I guess this is impossible but just wondered....

Jump to postWell we won't miss his rude behaviour and his negotiations style as if he was in the souk. I am sure that both A & B sales reps are celebrating tonight. Seems he overplayed his hand with the Airbus dispute as this short notice after almost 3 decades at the helm is definitely not business as usua...
Jump to postNice report, esp. liked all the stored planes at Tbilisi, quite a few interesting goodies there!
Jump to postGreat trip report!, nice that you were on one of their first commercial flights. The business class is the best I have ever seen on a narrow-body Airbus. Competes well with widebodies. Guess it will be used on longer flights in the future and not the short hops between Seoul and Jeju.
cheers

Nice report and great interior shot of the bizjets. What airport where you? You just mentioned a hangar on a London airport......

p.s. A South African friend made an interesting remark: What white person would get a fake SA passport???
Jump to postAs a Dutchman I was able to understand all questions and had 2/3 of answers correct, guess that would have meant failure. Clearly discrimination, like giving a French language test to all Canadians to proof they are really Canadians ..
Jump to post"This will be the last Dutch registered example, the remainder will be based in Germany." Please note that all 9 (not 8) will be Dutch registered, not just the first 5. For example T-059 (cn 1982) and T-060 (cn 1989) are already in production. Plus several of the delivered ones are already...
Jump to postThanks for this interesting report on that off-the-beaten path routing. Great to see the Fokker 100s filling this niche market in Oz. Miss seeing and flying them in Europe. Interesting that the F27 was so successful in Australia many moons ago but no brand new F100s/F70s were ever ordered in Austral...

Don't think it was reported here before: the Luftwaffe will get 2 A321NEOs according to attached article. The aircraft were ordered by Lufthansa before but LH won't be take due to Covid-19. It will get a convertible cabin that can be used for either military use or accommodate up to 14 patients. Gue...

Jump to postNice to see a report on a rare plane and unusual destination so thanks for posting. However, if you are such a nervous wreck why don't you stay home and don't venture to exotic destinations or aircraft? With all due respect but all the stress however about delays, turbulence etc comes across as very...
Jump to postThanks for the very nice report on an odd destination. Good to hear and see this positive perspective as I had heard a colleague complaining a few years ago how Bora Bora had been disappointing to her and not worth the long journey.

Hope they will succeed, love those lil' Fokkers!
What a downgrade, bring back the Puffin!!! That was such a unique touch!
Jump to postDear Eastafspot, You asked some time back about how the lease was of that Air Djibouti Fokker 100 (UP-F1009. Just read it was returned to Bek Air from Djibouti via Muscat to Almaty 19 April 2019 after lease ended. Plus other Fokker updates for the region is that 1) the former Tanzanian Government VI...

Pretty amazing flight combo. 3200 euro for that combo of flights is not a bad deal though still quite a bit of money. Have been on C class only flights US-Japan that cost double or triple and didn't had all that luxury. Thanks for all the details that you provided, nice read!
Jump to postMy first & second jet flights were on British Caledonian BAC1-11 AMS-LGW and back. Price at the time: HFL198 or 90 euro return :-) Glad to have decent shots of N164W like this one 2.5 years ago at homebase BWI: https://www.flickr.com/photos/antonvanruiten/30713508851/in/photolist-TsSWzq-2bcczBh-...
Jump to postThanks for taking the time to read this great report of this very exotic trip. What was the registration of that Bell? Got confused when you mentioned both US registered and unmarked. Guess unmarked like in no titles but would be interesting to know the reg.

Hi, Can somebody provide an overview of all the 772s with the new Polaris business class? About to book a business class trip IAD-NRT and NRT-IAD and normally book ANA because I don't like United business (the old 2-4-2) but would like to try new Polaris business class if there is a high probabilit...

Jump to postHi Eastafspot, The F100 seems to be mainly routing between Mogadishu-Hargeisa though reception is spotty in the Horn so flightaware doesn't pick up all flights. Not sure about lease conditions but count yourself lucky to have seen it! Never been to JIB, only NBO, WIL, ADD, DAR and KGL in East Africa...
Jump to postThanks for the nice tribute Eastafspot. I flew a few of your routes via NBO and ADD so good memories. Your Air Djibouti "DC9" is actually an Air Djibouti/Red Sea Airlines Fokker 100. Registered UP-F1009 and leased from Bek Air since June 2018 and believe it is active, a very nice catch! No...
