Please keep the thread on track. The last few posts have deviated from the Boeing quality issues to outsourcing/cheap labor in other countries without Boeing being mentioned anywhere. This thread is specifically about Boeing and the quality issues of the finished product at Charleston, nothing to do...Jump to post
Sorry that is 100% not true. Not only that but all my Indian co-workers that i've talked to hate LH. Connection times on LH to/from India can be 5-8 hours at FRA. The DTW flight actually has one of the best connections to India from the eastern US. If you look at flights from places like BOS/PHL/EW...Jump to post
Can BLR handle all this new capacity to Europe? First KL is entering the market with a 789, then BA announces it will upgauge to the A350, now LH is launching MUC on top of their FRA flight? I hope this doesn’t jeopardize LH’s existing FRA flight. Likewise, I hope KL doesn’t jeopardize AF KL is sta...Jump to post

BLR and HYD to SEA, SJC, RDU, BOS, PIT, DEN and SLC. This is the idea. DL seems to want to tap into business travelers (mostly) to/from SJC. They might be able to add some connections from other cities at SJC, but I assume it would be primarily SJC O/D traffic and potentially competing for some of the Bay Area traffic. Maybe UA or other SFO passenger...Jump to post

I’m saying either AF/KL should start CDG/AMS-SJC bc silicon valley’s extensive south Asian community uses Europe as a stopover to South Asia, DL just generally needs to add more flights to SJC That makes it clear. AF/KL do offer convenient connections at AMS and CDG. I travel a lot from LAX to BOM ...Jump to post

The aircraft flying BOS-DUB was parked at the adjacent gate, not even taxiing. What were the wing walkers doing?
If either airline is going to start at SJC, DL needs to add more flights and AF/KL need to make sure quick and stress free transit to South Asia is possible. Silicon Valley to South Asia is huge and if you give a cost efficient and easy option people will fly it Are you talking about DL adding more...Jump to post

Seattle is the global headquarters for Amazon, Microsoft, Starbucks, Expedia, Costco, plus many others. It’s not some podunk backwater.
I have my doubts on UA starting EWR-BLR. I would expect UA to start SFO-BLR first connecting two major IT/Silicon Valley hubs.
Not sure how much O&D is there between EWR and BLR

I don't think they will return to India, at least not on a big scale. After all they have their partner Lufthansa to cover anything beyond Europe such as India. Lufthansa has a reasonable presence in India and the Lufthansa hubs are very well connected to the USA by both United and Lufthansa. As su...Jump to post

Also, Pakistan just opened its airspace. So now let us see if UA reinstates BOM and DEL.

Suspension extended. Due to the continued restriction of Pakistani airspace, we are extending our suspension of service between EWR and BOM (Mumbai) and DEL (New Delhi) until Oct. 26, 2019 (eastbound). We are continuing to keep employees at our stations in India, as well as affected crew members, u...Jump to post

It is not just the rideshares or the car rental or hotel shuttles causing congestion. Part of the reason is also the fact that more people are parking in the central parking structure these days due to lack of adequate long-term parking. Don’t mean to hijack the thread but there was another big announcement from UA today.
EWR-BOM is suspended effective immediately due to concerns over flying over Iran. The aircraft stuck in BOM is being ferried to MNL.
UA is completely out of India currently!!
Are any of the European carriers flying into BOM avoiding Iranian airspace? I checked AF and the flight is still cutting through the middle of Iran. I am scheduled to fly BOM-CDG on the 25th next week and am wondering if the flight will take a detourJump to post

Hawaiian's position seems reasonable: No domestic baggage claim at TBIT, There is a domestic baggage claim at TBIT. EY uses that since passengers are pre-cleared at AUH. Do people know how Delta will handle meals on the BOM-JFK leg. Since the flight leaves so late (12:50am), most people won’t eat the meal they serve at the start of the flight.
