RE: How Do You Organise Your Images?

I make a folder called the event/location and the date. E.g RAF Fairford, 21st July 2013 then rename all the image files with aircraft type, serial, unit, air arm. E.g. F-16AM Fighting Falcon J-015 312 Sqn RNLAF 01. I can then search for whatever I like. It's a bit time consuming it must be said. Ba...

RE: Best Film Scanner For Old Negatives?

I use an Epson V500 which seems to work very well for a reasonable price. It has ICE which I find is a big help. I scan at 3200 dpi and after a bit of straightening, cropping etc. it will turn out an 11-12 Mp image. I tried scanning at higher resolution but found it didn't really give me any extra d...

Maybe there is some reluctance from the crew to implement this as it is likely to mean that they will have to read and approve/reject more comments? Personally, I'm happy to read and approve/reject any comments people make on my photos. An automated system operates on Youtube.

OK here's a thought. I liken the ease with which the images on this site and others can be stolen to a house with no doors. We all know it's not secure, but we continue to store our images in it. Well it creates no extra burden on me. I saw no problem with the request as the app merely links or provides a link to shots on a.net. I see it as no different to a user manually using a search engine to find a picture. I find it odd that a crew member would simply bin the message when a.net's own contact photographer template includes t...

The highlights on the fan blades also look different. To my eye the distance from the pitot under the nose to the top of the barrier also appears different as if the Reuters shot was taken from a slightly lower angle?

I went there last month. I found it dark, however, I was not using a tripod and only had the pop-up flash. Quite a few exhibits are in difficult positions and I found myself struggling with an 18mm lens on an APS-C sized sensor. Still worth taking a camera though.
