The Eng uses Bleed Air to turn the starter. If you run the packs ( They run on Bleed Air too) You don't have enough air pressure to get the starter to turn fast enough to get the eng turning fast enough to add fuel to the engine, so it can start. We also change engines for life limited parts. As engs get better and stay on wing longer some parts in the engine are Life limited. I am changing a Pratt 4000 for life limited parts in a few days. It will go back to the shop, and will replace anything on watch or show any issues and replace the LLP...

Its going up down at the South West pad next to the Qantas Hgr. But that won't be done until the end of the year and we have to be out of the WAL Hgr April 1st.

What do you all think about the Alaska Airline - Jet America Merger? Seems like a lot of the Routes went away. I think Delta was trying to acquire Jet America before Western, and lost out to Alaska. The lost of Western personally hurt, but I think Delta got a better Airline for fit.

I know DL has been running a 757-300 to HNL out of LAX for a while, it gets swapped with a 200 thru out the year. Rode one a few months back and a year ago. Looking at today LAX to HNL 3 out of the 5 flights are 757-300s. Flight 1719, 1559 , and 1149. HTH :)

Hi jed747. The Bad part is that you can't get around the AD. Like you said you could get a MTC Ferry, but I think that's the most the FAA will let you do.
