Re: Question For the Mechanics: Which Commercial Aircraft Have Been Easiest and Most Difficult For You to Work On?

I have never worked on anything smaller then a 737-200/DC-9. But in My Humble Opinion the MD-90 was the worst!! From Tire changes to Eng Changes it was just a hassle. Only airplane i had to get down to my undershirt to change a cockpit window controller, and a valve behind the P-Dome. Its a toss up ...

Check out B-17E 41-2596 Desert Rat being restored. It was converted to a XC-108 during WWII and now being restored back to a B-17E. They talk about some of the mods from a bomber to a Freighter.

He got caught between a Betty and a rear gunner of a TBM Avenger, and sadly was not seen again. Richard ...

Re: Why do we have to PACKS OFF during Engine Start?

The Eng uses Bleed Air to turn the starter. If you run the packs ( They run on Bleed Air too) You don't have enough air pressure to get the starter to turn fast enough to get the eng turning fast enough to add fuel to the engine, so it can start. Not sure on the 787 since that uses Electric. Hope th...
