RE: My Own "Moving Map" Independent From The Avod

I use the "avimapsgps" application on my iPad. Flight information is displayed on an aviation sectional chart as well as altitude and heading. You can also load routing information to get accurate ETA's, enroute avation weather (with an Internet connection) as well as wx radar overlays.

AS963AS 1/27/2000. Four days before it went down in the pacific.
I also crashed a motorized hang glider in 1984 when a wing spar broke. Spent 3 days in the hospital with lacerations and a couple of fractured ribs.

The best place to spot at KOA is on the road to the "National Energy Lab". There is a dirt (lava) road that will take you within a couple hundred yards of the end of runway 35.

Do you live in an earthquake prone area? Small earthquakes can make things go "bump" in the night. Piezoelectric effects at fault zones can cause lights and other phenemona.

787 Winglets?

I noticed yesterday during the first flight of the 787 that the wings lack the winglets common to nearly all next generation aircraft to improve efficency and performence. Is this because the new wing design eliminates the need or will they be added later?
