Re: Delta pilots now going after AeroMexico JV over concerns for labor arbitrage

Most of that is narrowbody flying. It isn't long-haul. DL has a very weak widebody fleet compared to AA and UA. They will replace the 757/767 with the A321XLR as it should have the range to operate routes like IND-CDG. There will be even fewer wide-bodies in the fleet in the next few years when the...

The reason AUS has such just PDEW to East Asia is due to ONE company HQ'ed there, Dell, which in high tech naturally has business to East Asia. Texas is well served with every Asian destination served from DFW (PEK, PVG, HKG, NRT, ICN and soon HND) and IAH (TPE, PEK & NRT). Both DFW and IAH are...

Yeah I think Podonktown, USA is eyeing big international routes as well... However, I agree that when you hit larger cities like BOM/MAA/HYD, then ME3 is a far better option. To travel from BOM-JFK will be much more desirable on EK or EY via DXB/AUH than AI via DEL, unless AI can heavily under-cut on price. What's the source of that number? A few years back someone posted the top 20 or 25 O&D markets in the USA. Metro areas with multiple airports were all added together and the list combined both domestic and international O&D. The annual data was boiled down to passengers per day. I'm not sur...
