I'm with you E! got my 10D in early 2003 and have been using it ever since. One fine peace of equipment! Have a new shutter in it though since the first one broke after just 7000 exposures (a common problem with the early 10D's I've heard) My next investment(s) will be some more L Glass.... rgds, J

Just out of curiosity: The soft/blurry issues, are they concentrated on the aircraft or more on the background mountain area? On my screen I can not really spot any softness on the aircraft, but the background I did not sharpen that much... Would it help sharpening the mountain as well? rgds, Jeroen

Just a short update... I gave it a try in appealing the rejection. Unfortunately the shot was rejected on appeal as well. Strangely there was a fourth rejection reason included now: the subject was not centered in the frame..... Perhaps reviewed by someone with a rather conservative view on composit...

If you have a close look at the borders there seems to be 1 stripe which is one pixel wide that is more bright than the rest of the sky....don't know what is causing this artefact though ?!

I'd put the aircraft a little higher in the frame.

some tours are organized which can be joined.
You then are airside and usualy don't have to bother about security so much..

Anyway the locals do a very good job in my opinion.

I own 2 no name batteries for the 10D and 3 Canon originals.
The no names perform much better (longer shooting) at a fraction of the cost.

So I'd try a no name if I were you...
At a fraction of the cost the risk of not being happy is very small..

Be advised that the 28-300L will not work with the listed extenders.
I'm not even sure whether it works with any converter at all !!!
Nice lens nevertheless...

If you want to shoot some long lens action I'd follow Tim's advice and buy a 100-400L. Great value for money!

Personally for some reason I like this shot. Perhaps you can try a potrait crop instead of a landscape crop to kill some of the dead space though?!

I stopped shooting K64 back in 2003 already and switched to digital completely.

The prices just got rediculous and the process quality wasn't what it used to be anymore at that time......

This final cut by Kodak was to be expected some day I guess....
It happened later than I expected however.

I 1 or 2 times forgot to switch off the self timer after night shooting.

that's a nice nose shot! To further improve it I'd do 2 to 4 passes of <acronym title="Surat Thani - Samui (USM / VTSM), Thailand">USM</acronym> with settings 200 0.3 0. Try to make a duplicate layer first so you can use the brushes to eliminate jaggies if any should apear locally. rgds, Jeroen

HDR is stunning for aviation as well. When you shoot RAW you can process the RAW file various times. Each time optimizing a different section in the picture.
