From what I've experienced, you don't need to flush the hydraulic system on a time cycle because the system is replenished often, whether it be from changing a component out and losing fluid, whatever the case. I've seen this happen on the CRJ. We've had problems with the temp sensors gettting fouled up or starting to fail, and allowing the the temp to drop below 0 degrees in auto mode. Sometimes you can drive the temp to -2 degrees in manual mode. You have to be careful though because I've seen ACM's fail...

The CRJ still uses steel brakes. At least the 200. I think the 700 and 900 have gotten approval for the carbon composite. They are a pain to change. I can only imagine what it is like on a bigger a/c. they weigh about 200 lbs.

I only work on the 200, but from what I have heard is that the 700 is an electrical nightmare. I have ridden on one several times and enjoy it. I would take the CRJ over the ERJ any day, and thats not because I work on them.

On the CRJ's the spoilers create so much drag, the thrust reversers aren't even needed in most cases. I highly doubt the plane would get off the ground with the spoilers up

Where I work it is a SOP too. However, the NW gate I work at always seems to get sloppy seconds and most of their equipment doesn't work. Majority of the time they use hand signals.

That's one thing I have wanted to do very badly. I'm just afraid its not possible anymore. I want to see they way things work in flight, instead of how they work on the ground. I might learn something that could help me troublshoot a problem better in the future.

Interesting article. I had a friend that got a job there right out of A&P school. He packed up his wife and kid and moved out there. I stepped into the hangar on his first day and turned around and walked out and moved back. I'm sure glad he did.

From what I know, the 700 is going to offer you just about as much room as the 200 in the flight deck. All the did was take the 200 and stretch it. I do believe there is more cabin room, but not certain. From a mx standpoint. I have heard the 700 is an electrical nightmare

I haven't heard of this myself, but usually a modifcation package will come out if operators of the 200 want it. The cost would be pretty high I'm sure, might not be worth the saving. Don't take me seriously, I probably don't know what I'm talking about
