wjcandee, I think that SY was sending planes to LQQ for interior mods. Maybe AAR is booked full now with helping Boeing with its AD work, to get all the MAX's ready to return to service. I guess its a wait and see for more Amazon planes at SY.. Remember these 3 words." SUBJECT TO CHANGE" ...

I have had a few items come from our DC, in MN. Tires via MEM, cell phone from LAS to ONT to RFD to MSP. That was strange. If it has any battery it comes UPS otherwise USPS, we are in a rural area of MN. I love ordering online if I know what I need, Stop at PO in AM to get or wait til around 4 for UPS

Plus add in the fact the FAA gave their blessings to Sun Country to add 10 additional planes to their fleet. 31 to 41 in a turned upside down industry.

The best part of this whole story is Compass was located in DL Building C, @MSP Now they have to find an office and hanger space. The only place I know of a hanger is by SY. But Endeavor uses it. Looks like sky hanger for them

SY now has 30 737-800 so I think they can come up with a crew and a plane to fly anyone home. The past issue was they had planes due to be returned to AMS coming off winter lease when the had fewer planes. They added 9 planes in the last 18 months

N845DM signed over to Amazon yesterday (could have been Friday, government holiday). This will become N7949A Amazon plane number 10 for Sun Country. Sun Country has been taking advantage of the low price on frames. IIRC they now own 14 of the 30 in their -800 fleet. They still lease the only -700 VIP plane, plus the 10 Amazon planes

I can't find the story, but Sun Country CEO said that prices of 12 yr old 737-800 are down in value vs pre virus prices. SY is kicking the ties and plan on growing to 50- 60 jets, but no time frame.

I am still trying to confirm that Sun Country will get more -800F. There was a posting last Sunday night about Sun Country and their COO, at a industry conference, since been deleted, that cargo was going to have an upswing starting in Sept. /Oct of this year. Fingers crossed.

N440CC will become.N5479A @SCX. Gives them 7 out of 10. Only one more 737-800F left to come over from China for the first group of 10. I heard a rumor SCX was going to get more. Can't confirm yet.

I was told 7 by end of June. I checked the SY fleet list, it now shows 39 planes, including the VIP jet, the pax jets and the Amazon planes. wow

My source stated that the Amazon planes run the same as the SY as far as MX goes. Not too many issues, But you are dealing with an airline that has been flying 737-800 since 2001. I think they know what to do and how to handle things that come up.

I am checking my source at SY. I was emailed newsletter today saying 9 more going to SY. Did not say anything about SOO. I have not seen any info on SOO getting more then the 5 they have now. Those Amazon planes had been set to go to Southern Air. but Southern was having staffing issues. So Amazon approached Sun Country about flying their planes. Sun Country had approached Amazon about buying some of their jets. Amazon never got back to Sun Country until the called about the flying.
