wjcandee, I think that SY was sending planes to LQQ for interior mods. Maybe AAR is booked full now with helping Boeing with its AD work, to get all the MAX's ready to return to service. I guess its a wait and see for more Amazon planes at SY.. Remember these 3 words." SUBJECT TO CHANGE" ...Jump to post

If Boeing is already doing rework, then they know something by the FAA that's not public knowledgeJump to post
Who would have thought the state Alaska would become a battle ground over air service to small towns???Jump to post
I have had a few items come from our DC, in MN. Tires via MEM, cell phone from LAS to ONT to RFD to MSP. That was strange. If it has any battery it comes UPS otherwise USPS, we are in a rural area of MN. I love ordering online if I know what I need, Stop at PO in AM to get or wait til around 4 for UPSJump to post
Things are sure not getting better for some airlines, big or small.Jump to post
New rumor is that Breeze will be based in MSP. As Compass was...This gets interesting by the day.

At this point with the virus, and traveling public, should we even be surprised at any cuts from any airline.Jump to post
SY now has 30 737-800 so I think they can come up with a crew and a plane to fly anyone home. The past issue was they had planes due to be returned to AMS coming off winter lease when the had fewer planes. They added 9 planes in the last 18 monthsJump to post
VCVSpotter Which ex USAF base are you near..March, George?? SY had 7 DOD charters yesterday from MSP out your way to March.. My dad was stationed at George way back in the day. Last time I was out that way was during the 1970's..Yes I'm old. Also turned Edwards and saw Shuttle Enterprise too.Jump to post
N845DM signed over to Amazon yesterday (could have been Friday, government holiday). This will become N7949A Amazon plane number 10 for Sun Country. This should be the last of the 10 they agreed to fly for Amazon. I still can't confirm that SY will be getting more then the original 10. N845DM is in...Jump to post
Sun Country has been taking advantage of the low price on frames. IIRC they now own 14 of the 30 in their -800 fleet. They still lease the only -700 VIP plane, plus the 10 Amazon planesJump to post
I can't find the story, but Sun Country CEO said that prices of 12 yr old 737-800 are down in value vs pre virus prices. SY is kicking the ties and plan on growing to 50- 60 jets, but no time frame.Jump to post
I am still trying to confirm that Sun Country will get more -800F. There was a posting last Sunday night about Sun Country and their COO, at a industry conference, since been deleted, that cargo was going to have an upswing starting in Sept. /Oct of this year. Fingers crossed.Jump to post
Did anyone catch that AS is going to cut even more Airbus jets next year?? I saw it posted in Aviator newsletter.I get emailed daily. " Alaska Airlines (US) plans to retire more A320s, including seven of its 49 remaining A320s in 2021. The carrier will retire one B737-800 and hopes to take deli...Jump to post
One thing for sure some airlines will be able to pick up more planes for cash and place them in storage...G4, SY..Jump to post
Its called pencil pushing. Sign off the A/C to get it out of the shop. Management forces it so they look good. BUT the FAA should be standing on the managers shoulders watching every move. It was explained to me once that as a mechanic when you sign the log book, your going out on the limb by signin...Jump to post
I am checking my source at SY. I was emailed newsletter today saying 9 more going to SY. Did not say anything about SOO. I have not seen any info on SOO getting more then the 5 they have now. Per Planspotters.net SOO only has 5 -800F not taking any more. SOO does have 6 -400F with one stored. Plansp...Jump to post
Those Amazon planes had been set to go to Southern Air. but Southern was having staffing issues. So Amazon approached Sun Country about flying their planes. Sun Country had approached Amazon about buying some of their jets. Amazon never got back to Sun Country until the called about the flying.Jump to post
Between this thread and Amazon Fleet, these are two of the best topics going right now. Thanks to everyone who has postedJump to post
