At first glance, it kind of looked like a Kuwait Airways 77W, but there’s no writing underneath. That would be a very random sight in Australian skies though, but given everything going on, nothing should be unexpected. I thought the same, but also the blue on Kuwait does not stretch so far forward...

And hopefully they are dealt with accordingly. Unfortunately, if they get anywhere near the number of people they claim to be involved, it's going to be a nightmare to police. Nothing stopping them from sending one up for 10 minutes and then darting off, while another somewhere else sends theirs up...

The tourist market to all these areas is basically dead from everywhere but the West Coast. The average fare from a lot of the East USA to Asia is over $2200 RT pre-taxes, while Europe can be as low as $600. I know there are longer flights. But still find it impressive that when I woke up QF9 was already airborne. I went to work for 12 hours. Now home again at it still has about 90 minutes flight time left.

ETA is jumping around a bit. 10 minutes here and there.
Currently with the +1 time change it is scheduled to land at LHR at about 3:34 am
That is of course assuming it maintains roughly this speed for the duration of the flight.

If you look at what has Premium Economy has been charged for over the next 12 months it is actually cheaper on MEL-PER-LHR than anytime on MEL-DXB-LHR.
