Hello! I would suggest the following: Nikon D3200 has 24megapixels and you need a good glass if you want to get the most from that sensor. Used Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 VR, first, second or third generation - all perfect lenses. New is expensive. Will be 105-300mm on your body. Top quality, low light sho...Jump to post
Nikon 70-200 f2.8 lenses are professional grade lenses and have nothing to do with color output. The color of the image controlled by camera. Old sigma lenses tend to give some yellow cast but not nikon. Try to play with white balance on your camera and I suggest you to shoot in raw. Raw has more co...Jump to post
Perhaps used Canon 5D Mark 2 or Mark 3 in good condition will be the best option if you want high ISO, better autofocusing and overall better performance.
If you do not need a full frame then you may choose any modern beginner Canon DSLR which will be better than 350D.
Hi James, I am a Nikon user and can advise only on Nikon DSLR. As a starter mid-priced I would suggest you to get Nikon D3300 with 18-105mm lens for wide shots and Sigma 100-400mm Contemporary lens.[150-600mm on Nikon D3300] You do not need all that extra buttons for aviation photography. Basically ...Jump to post
Dear friends, Perhaps some of you aware about INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF WEAPONS SYSTEMS AND MILITARY EQUIPMENT named KADEX which will take place in Astana in 23-26 May this year. Many EU countries and some Asian countries got VISA-Free entry to Kazakhstan so perhaps you will be interested in visit...Jump to post
Airliners.net is 100% pure aviation while Facebook and other similar sites/platforms are the mix of information.
I echo Miguel and Kas opinion about quality. No one wants to spend some time for editing and make photo looks pleasant but everyone wants to be in TOP and do not want to wait.
I have to try to go out and try some night shots.
Now that Expo 2017 is over (Astana was the host) I have a feeling traffic dropped precipitously. I was there in July. It is interesting, but the fall in oil prices has really hurt the economy. There is also concern that when the President dies (he is in his 80s and has ruled since the end of the co...Jump to post
Sad news for travellers. The Dutch airline KLM will stop flights from Amsterdam to Astana and Almaty. This change is happened because of economic reasons, also the result of optimization of KLM's route network, reports the official page of the airline on Facebook. ‘We regret to inform you that despi...Jump to post
New Sigma Contemporary 100-400mm with more flexible focal range than Nikon 200-500mm can be a good option for cropped Nikon D3300 giving you that extra range you need for close-up shots, airshows, shots from the long distance with cool morning or evening air without heat haze. It is light, well buil...Jump to post

Change lenses in non-windy place. This is the biggest problem of all DSLR cameras. Once it is open and you have wind, dust will be on sensor soon. And do not worry too much about few dust spots. They can be removed in post-processing. If you see many dust spots then it is time to think about cleanin...Jump to post
I would go for Nikon D800E with 500mm f/4Jump to post

Hello Jimmy, A friend of mine, spotter from Germany, Alexander Karmazin had a Nikon D700 for some time and now he got Nikon D750. We talked about autofocus accuracy and speed performance of these two cameras after he went spotting with new Nikon D750. I was surprized when he said that Nikon D700 aut...Jump to post
Dear ShokerSquad400, My advise. Camera: Both Nikon D5500 and D7100 great cameras but I would suggest to go for Nikon D7100. Better and faster focusing and bigger viewfinder of Nikon D7100 will help you track and frame airplane and whole scene better. Lens: I think <acronym title="Philipsburg / St. M...Jump to post

Hello Daniel, Every single advise given above is very good but may I ask you a question? Do you really need to buy a new lens right now? Every investment/purchase must be smart in my opinion. The reason why I ask you a question is that almost all Canon users - spotters ended up with buying Canon 100...Jump to post

I had Sigma 150-600mm contemporary version for my Nikon.
Optically this lens is fine but I was not 100% happy with image stabilizer on it.
Perhaps it was my particular lens only.
I sold it.
Can't comment on ebay because I never bought lens there.
Hello Andrew, D750 has an advantage in low light situations with keeping noise in low level at high ISO but how often do you shoot at high ISO? D7100 is a very capable camera with good fast AF and ISO. I would personally suggest to invest in good glass. Nikon 70...Jump to post
