Alitalia has been flying to Buenos Aires since the late 1940´s, and KLM´s Buenos Aires service (also started in the 1940´s) was restarted in 2011 after being absent for a decade or so... They are not that new... but Norwegian, LEVEL and Edelweiss surely are.

Mexico City has a large population. But the city itself is not that big. I mean, distances are not excessive. The thing is that the whole city is congested, traffic is hellish and mass transportation is not enough. Besides, topography doesn´t help much either... I think building a new PCA, upgrading...

I believe some 4x 787-10s sitting around 300-320 pax. could be useful on the South America (EZE,GRU) and Europe (MAD, CDG) routes. That could free some 787-8/9s for Asia, upgrading AMS or LHR (a success, or so I´ve heard) and opening a new Asian or European destination.

Well, not Boeing/Airbus, but McDonnell Douglas completed seven DC-10-15, based on the DC-10-10, by request of Mexicana and Aeroméxico, for their MEX-elsewhere hot and high operations. Last week they retired the 744 from the LHR-MEX route... They introduced the B789 and some say it might send the A351 when ready. Not because of the retirement per se, but there’s some relation, isn’t it?
All LHR-Latin America routes are now operated with the 772, 77E, 77W and the 789.

Well, MEX is not part of the USA... but Aeroflot flew to Mexico City for the last time in 2004, I believe. They serve MEX via their Sky Team partners, mainly AF/KL.
