And I doubt many of those travelers flying currently are "leisure" and are in any mood buying luxury items. Most will be either business essential or because of family matters. You may see a few more food outlets open but for the near future, I don't really see other retailers will open. A...

Re: Could KLM change there 77W order to 777F

Simple answer is no, unless health experts determine the pandemic will last a few decades. airlines plan their fleets for the next 5, 10-20+ years, not the current demand or even near future (1-2 years). So if KLM converted to 77F, then the pandemic ended or softened in later 2020. While the orders ...

Re: Tokyo Narita ponders future after Delta's farewell

The only reason DL had a "huge" presence in NRT was only because they inherited NW's trans-pac routes. But in recent years DL had shifted its hub in NRT to various major hubs in US mainland airports. Correct me if I'm wrong, the only routes DL is serving NRT is only ATL, DTW, PDX, SEA, SLC...

Re: A DL 772, Flying LAX-PVG, Makes Emergency Landing And Dumps Fuel On School

I don't think many here would seriously debate the prudence in dumping fuel here, it's just where it was done, and at what altitude it was done that are at issue. Pretty simple. Another argument was that why fuel dump on approach when the pilot indicated to ATC that they have no intention to dump f...

The down side I believe will be the traffic jam on Sepulveda Tunnel from I-105.
And with the elimination the "by-pass" from the North to Terminal 1, the Sepulveda/Century Blvd junction will be quite horrible.

We will see how much the APM will help out the traffic situation.

The smoke was more than any burnoff I've seen in years. But other than a possible fine, no issue. Why would they be fined for performing a regulation required burnoff? The burnoff flare is fine by itself. However, depending on which year the flare stack was designed or erected. It's emission has to...
