And I doubt many of those travelers flying currently are "leisure" and are in any mood buying luxury items. Most will be either business essential or because of family matters. You may see a few more food outlets open but for the near future, I don't really see other retailers will open. A...Jump to post

It was A346 took the honor for HKG-JFK non-stop.
Simple answer is no, unless health experts determine the pandemic will last a few decades. airlines plan their fleets for the next 5, 10-20+ years, not the current demand or even near future (1-2 years). So if KLM converted to 77F, then the pandemic ended or softened in later 2020. While the orders ...Jump to post

This is a scam. In big capital letters. They knew about the crap weather - forecasts are not that bad forecasting the future weather! But obviously they need a positive press news in the press... ASAP. They hoped perhaps todays was/is the day... but it does look like a further negative press releas...Jump to post

The only reason DL had a "huge" presence in NRT was only because they inherited NW's trans-pac routes. But in recent years DL had shifted its hub in NRT to various major hubs in US mainland airports. Correct me if I'm wrong, the only routes DL is serving NRT is only ATL, DTW, PDX, SEA, SLC...Jump to post
I don't think many here would seriously debate the prudence in dumping fuel here, it's just where it was done, and at what altitude it was done that are at issue. Pretty simple. Another argument was that why fuel dump on approach when the pilot indicated to ATC that they have no intention to dump f...Jump to post
Once DL leaves NRT, would this be the same case like UA left JFK and now wants to return?Jump to post
Well, I guess a certain newspaper in Hong Kong can no longer use "Because of complete mismanagement, which cause (CX's) ranking to continue to fall" title for CX. But yes, otherwise, it's Skytrax Ranking. I guess BA paid them quite a bit to bump them up 12 ranks. They're still not #1, the...Jump to post
Here's an example of a tail jack on a DL 737-900
And here's one being used on 747-400M
Will any DL/US 747 pilots venture to foreign countries who still flies 747s? (e.g. CX)Jump to post

The media just need to do whatever they need to catch as much attention. Even with loose facts linking up with the MAX accidents, and put unnecessary fear with the general public who don't know. It's not "wrong", but its just somehow doesn't sound right. It's a perfect description of the ...Jump to post

The down side I believe will be the traffic jam on Sepulveda Tunnel from I-105.
And with the elimination the "by-pass" from the North to Terminal 1, the Sepulveda/Century Blvd junction will be quite horrible.
We will see how much the APM will help out the traffic situation.

The smoke was more than any burnoff I've seen in years. But other than a possible fine, no issue. Why would they be fined for performing a regulation required burnoff? The burnoff flare is fine by itself. However, depending on which year the flare stack was designed or erected. It's emission has to...Jump to post
Similar experience happened to me back in 2009 in SIN-HKG with A380. After everyone boarded the flight, the flight deck announced there was an issue with the engine fire bottle indicator/sensor etc. Where they do not think it will be resolved in short amount of time, and need to swap into another A3...Jump to post
