Re: Southwest's 737-200s

This is Southwest's February 2001 route map. Would it be safe to say that the -200s flew through all of these cities at least once (with the exception of SNA) before they were recalled to the Texas Triangle? https://i.imgur.com/Y082KgM.jpg That route map had me thinking... What cities to WN service...

Living in the western suburbs, I hate MDW.

I fly out of ORD and avoid MDW if at all possible.

Re: O’Hare Redesign and Midway

To be fair, that mall down the street from MDW has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. With that said, as we've seen with the annexation that ORD made with Bensenville, it would seen entirely possible that some annexation could be done potentially around the surrounding areas of MDW.

Re: Are cargo services a precursor to passenger service?

What you seem to have with ORD and Eva is a omitted variable bias. The missing variable is that Chicago is a large city with what appears to be a good economy, and a busy airport. Therefore, service to another major city seems likely, for both cargo and self-loading cargo. However, for example, oth...

That's fair.

do you think its because of the Global Alliances? and the ability to offer A to B to C connections easier?

I am well aware that there are instances where Cargo operators run into small cities like Fargo or Anchorage, due to logistics, I get that.

Are cargo services a precursor to passenger service?

Pretty straight forward. But I've often wondered this. I've noticed that a few times a Cargo operation will run an established city pairing for several quarters, and then passenger service will start to said city. Examples off the top of my head: EVA Air to ORD; they had a well established cargo ope...

With BA recently resuming A380 service to ORD.

It got me thinking -

What possible future routes could see an A380 into ORD on?

Could LH send a 380 on the FRA run? how about Emirates to DXB?

Just kinda thinking out loud on a Friday
