Re: United Fleet, Network, & Livery Thread - 2020

Last, I don’t know how long you’ve been with UA, but do you recall “Pillow Man?” - a passenger who was quite well known at UA. He requested that each time he flies he required about 15 pillows at his First Class seat. And he got them! I’ve sat next to him twice, and have witnessed first hand what h...

In a word "FAR 117", that's what really impacts no overfly of Russian airspace for US carriers and of course slot times.

Re: United Fleet Upgrade Status - 2018

It'll be a few more months before the next delivery, right? I wonder if EWR-HKG will get the 77W once the final two are on property... From your lips to God’s ear! (Or Oscar) I would love that out of EWR. EWR is like United's youngest child who gets hand-me-downs with their wide body fleet. The 77W...

Re: United Fleet Upgrade Status - 2017

UAL can expand the 175 fleet (including the 175E2) as much as they want today. It just has to be staffed by mainline pilots Otherwise the scope restrictions are in effect and what they have is what they have. My understanding from everything that's been written here is that E175 contracted flying c...

Re: UA changes order for 35 A350-1000s to 45 A350-900s

AFAIK, UAL ALPA still hasn't agreed to the crew issue for the A350. Also, I've seen a comment on FB by an ALPA rep that stated the same - no agreement yet. They have at least 5 years to find a solution. As for ALPA they were upset about the 65 737NG's and the dilution of the blended rate. They don'...

The HKG-SIN is where the slot comes from for the new LAX-SIN so HKG-SIN goes away. There's no slots involved here... If UAL wants to move the flight they can at SIN easily, if they wanted to add a flight you must follow the below process and get government approval, which you may or may not get in ...

Re: UA Pilot's Union Does Company a Solid

All this does is confirms that the UA culture is anti consumer and all about the company. I hope the general public gets to read what the pilots think because it will take them right back to the original Munoz ideology about this incident. At the very least, UA has a substantial amount of liability...

Simply UAL flew those 3 planes averaged around 4 hours per day of flying due to schedules, bring them back to the states put them in the normal flight schedules domestically and like magic they average a little over 8 hours per day and you didn't have to purchase a new plane.

Re: UA won't ordering additional 77W aircraft, rules out A330neo

So where is the cancellation? Wing production for the first UA A350 should start in June. It is now April and first parts should be in production and a lot of components on (firm unconditional) order. So every day you wait penalties go up. And still there is no cancellation. Does UA love penalties?...

Well I can't comment on most of your post but the underlined portion I do know about. The A-350 as currently configured does NOT comply with FAA FAR 117 rest requirements, the process around the reg is a FAA waiver that is long and complicated but possible at DAL and AA, not as UAL unless you get t...

I think you are throwing the baby out with the bathwater. For some of us, it isn't a matter of the A350 not being good enough or us not wanting it in UAs fleet. I couldn't care less What we are responding to are repeated internal rumblings including from UA insiders (of some sort) saying or implyin...

Very deceptive. Not "adding" 25,000 jobs. They have basically zero fleet growth. Did you ever think that if you have an airplane that flies 10 hours per day what happens when you fly it 13 hours per day instead ? Times hundreds of airplanes next. No fleet growth but more employees needed ...

The new section regarding FRMS flights will apply to this flight. So, the new agreement allows this flight and future FRMS flights to be announced. 30west
