US carriers lack of IST service has rarely been because of security, its mostly because they can't compete with TK. This incident eerily reminds me of the incident that happened last year where I lost few of my friends:( the challanger from DXB to IST that crashed in Northern Iran, there was a faulty air speed indicator and they were trying to ascend during cruise altitude and she stalled the plane.

I took an uneventful IST-AMS, LHR-IST routing with TK on J both flights were on 330’s of course didn’t note down the regs but the J seats were manually operated. Choose is maybe the wrong word. They had to pick the least useless Airbus offerings to compensate for the A380 cancellation. They wanted the 787 as can be seen by the MOU. That they took the 900 makes sense, because they will probably top off on the 777-9s to compensate Boeing for the 787 MOU. Wow ...
