Wouldn’t be better for AV to fly BOG-ASU-MVD daily and drop LIM-ASU/MVD ? This would be just just way off AV's current business plans making BOG it's main hub. Based on your comment, why wouldn't CM fly for exmple PTY-ASU-MVD? Not to mention MVD is a small market but better connected than ASU and i...

AVIANCA will begin *again* non-stop flying between Bogota, Colombia and Montevideo, Uruguay. Route was suspended in April this year, and certainly this re-start wasn't expected to happen so soon, but very well welcome and good to see this 2 capitals linked again. Avianca (Colombia) will cut from its network MVD as of March 19'. Hard to see this route ends, barely lasted 2 years with load factors around 90% from official sources from both Colombian and Uruguayans. Clearly MVD was not a gold mine for them to keep the route with B772 nonstop, so the easiest move was just to leave. AF lost the shirt on that tag on. Flying an 2/3 empty 777 over 180 miles is not exactly a money maker. Add to that the airline needed to have more crews stay longer in Bs Aires to fl...

AF started MVD after IB dropped and they were the only Europan connection to/from Uruguay.

I think that the service being a tag from EZE is just a waste. I think a non stop CDG-MVD maybe 2 or 3 weekly would have worked better than what they currently offer though.
