Back in the day when a new phone was completely different than an outgoing model both in design and function, I could see the argument going out to get a new phone - but nowadays, all phones really just look the same and the performance differences are just minimal bumps.

For me personally, just for a couple of inches of leg room, it wouldn't be worth it. If Economy Plus came with extra perks like priority boarding, meals, etc., then I'd convince myself - but just for a bit more leg room, I'd pass.
