Speaking of the A330-200s, C-GUBL went to Rio on 3 March and hasn't been seen since. Returned to leasor? Went down for C-check, and due to lack of flying (total shutdown in April) has stayed there for storage. C-GUBD went to join it a few days ago, and C-GUBC will be joining them in the near future...
Jump to postWhat is TS flying right now? Saludos, Alex A21N. Whatever the future has in store for TS, I don't how many of their 20 A330s will return to service, especially the -300s. Whenever a return to (somewhat) normal occurs, the plans call 12 of 20 A330's returning to service. 1 out of 4 -300's will remai...
Jump to postAs spectacular as that looks, not flight critical parts. This better be satire.. It depends what meaning you give to critical. It's critical enough to not depart like that. However they were not a critical component for safety of flight. The proof is it made no difference on the flight outcome. Tha...
Jump to postDon't think it's fair for the Quebec government to be subsidizing a Quebec based company for a bid. Especially considering the Prime Minister's ties to Transat. What ties does he have? Genuine question. I'm thinking he means the Premier of Quebec - he was a co-founder of Transat back in 1987. Not s...
Jump to postThe 2nd OW door is there, it's just de-activated.
With a 12/187 config (199 total seats), the need for the 2nd door is not there.
If TS decides to put in more seats, the 2nd door can be re-activated and off they go.

Indeed, C-GFAT has been sent to YMX two months ago.
So this is their last summer of A310 ops? Seems so, perhaps even as backup. However I don't know how quickly the first ten will be delivered and thus replace the seven remaining A310s. The A310's will limp along till 2021, the very last one may even make it into 2022. But they are down to 6 now...
Jump to postGreat post - I agree 100% It was a combination of many factors. Boeing and Pilots. BTW - The FO of that plane had less hours than I do (he was at 98 hours(or 154 the report is a little unclear) - I got to about 110 total before stopping 10 years ago)before he was made a FO of an 737. Jump to postDoes anybody now why TS didn't paint their planes like they are depicted on their own website ( https://www.airtransat.com/en-CA/Travel-information/Our-fleet ). Jump to postTS only recently got their A320's, so wonder what it's going to FRA for. It's possible that the aircraft is being returned to Condor. It is my understanding that the main purpose of the A320's was for pilot training until the A321's arrived. Now that the first 2 A321's (C-GEZD and C-GEZJ) are fully...

I have noticed something about TS A330s fleet numbering. The -300s are '001' to '004', then some -200s are numbered...
Jump to postC-GTSD is the plane to fly on if you can - it's the only airplane in the fleet that is configured at 2-4-2, all others are 3-3-3. GTSD has similar range to the A332's because it's MTOW is 233T. The other -300's are either 215T or 217T MTOW. Although I don't know when, I have heard that C-GKTS will b...

Jump to postAt least it was only 1 wheel, not unlike the previous time when they left the entire center gear of an A340 on departure out of FRA (don't remember the year, but it was a A340, so a while back )
Not really maintenance issues. It's more of the terms of the lease. GITS is used on a "power-by-the-hour" lease, meaning when it flies, payment is due to the leasing company. When it sits around, it's essentially free (minus the YYZ parking fees :o ) The current schedule doesn't need it to...

you mean the NON-EXISTENT glide path?
They were low, yes, they did the correct thing by going around and returned for a safe landing.
