Think of the amount of flights that land at EWR in an hour. If all those flights are circling, what happens when the weather clears? You now have 60 circling flights to land AND the flights scheduled to land when the storm is over. It would be a nightmare.

I can't believe YUL is now just over 2 Million passengers ahead of YYC. Ten to fifteen years ago people were saying Montreal would never get back in the #3 spot.

I hate hearing customers claim that flights are cancelled "due to low loads". Flights go out with one person on them. Airlines don't cancel due to low loads.

What ever happened to the plan on creating a second horseshoe on the domestic side of the terminal. Similar to the two concourses for Transborder and International, there was originally going to be another horseshoe on the east side of the terminal for all domestic gates, eliminating the aeroquay.

Don't hold your breath. Sunwing and Transat would never split sun operations out of two airports in Montreal. Doesn't make sense as it adds to the costs of operations. Through all the trials and tribulations, Montreal has ended up with quite an enviable airport system. It has a world-class 24-hour cargo and industrial airport, a passenger airport fairly near the city centre that still has as much runway capacity as Heathrow, and a good GA airport in Saint-Hubert....

I apologize for sounding naiive but what in the Aeroquay? It's a small concourse of remote gates just north east of the main terminal. Gates are generally used by Jazz, First Air and Air Creebec. There are still several DHC-7 at YTZ with Trans Capital. There are 6 or 7 at the airport being used for parts but a handful that still fly. Looks like they still use them for UN work around the world. We see them up on test flights from time to time after maintenance.

If it's like here in Canada, it would be things like Security Fee, Airport Improvement fee and so on. In Canada those fees are actually a huge chunk of the fare.

Edit: I see now they ARE referring to things like bag fees. Not sure how that would work since not everyone has a bag.

To answer the question of whether anyone out west has heard of Porter, you only need to look at Porter's Facebook page to see the number of people from Vancouver and Calgary asking for Porter to expand westward. Word has been spreading out there for quite some time.

Porter do not own the facilities. They are owned by the Toronto Port Authority. Porter simply has the lease of all of the facilities except for Hangar 1. So the City Center FBO is now the Porter FBO. However, Porter does not "own" it.
