Mesa still operates a morning DFW-ABQ-PHX CRJ-900. For awhile it ran as a thru flight, same flight number.Jump to post
UA ABQ-ORD Oct 3>2 UA ABQ-SFO Oct 3>2 Both of these deletions were going to be new additions with UA mainline aircraft, The SFO would have been the first mainline flight on the ABQ-SFO route. Almost everytime UA adds more flights from ABQ (and who knows how many other places), they pull them b...Jump to post
Sure like to see AA (as well as DL and UA) bring back widebodies on high frequency domestic routes and especially on LAX and PHX to Hawaii. I think Alaska should do a widebody order as well. It was great having AA put a 788 on DFW-ANC this summer.Jump to post
Looks like the new UA* DEN-HOB will start Oct 27 and operate by SkyWest with a CRJ-200. The current flights from HOB to IAH will switch from ExpressJet ER4's to SkyWest CRJ's as well.Jump to post
Thanks for the Boutique update. ABQ-CVN would probably do okay but it was added at the last minute and they're already cutting it after only one month. CNM is booming with oil right now, sounds like 4B could add more flights on their current routes to ABQ and DFW.Jump to post
Anyone know whats up with Boutique (4B)? They announced CVN-ALS for July 1 but that never started. Instead they did CVN-ABQ and ABQ-ALS but the ABQ-ALS only lasted one week and the CVN-ABQ lasted one month. Now they say they're adding CVN-CNM on Aug 1 however its not in their website. I thought 4B o...Jump to post
I find it very interesting how some EAS routes of 300 miles in length are flown with very slow, single engine, Cessna Caravans. FOD-STL: 331 miles, MCW-ORD: 288miles, IWD-ORD: 333 miles. I don't know what kind off load factor is on these flights but I cant imagine anybody in today's world subjecting...Jump to post
What's up with 4B (Boutique Air) doing ALS-CVN? Appears they need a link between their DEN and DFW hubs however ALS has been running with PC-12's and CVN with BE-350's. And the flights are all point to point, i.e. they are not thru flights DEN-CVN or ALS-DFW however the schedules are set up where on...Jump to post
United is bringing mainline jets back to COS with two daily to DEN effective June 6, an A319 and a 739.Jump to post
The two markets on AN that are showing cut (ABQ-SVC and PHX-SVC) are probably not happening as these are EAS markets. AN is contracted to service these routes through 2020.Jump to post
With AA dropping the MEI-PIB market, that is cutting ORD-PIB thru service. Effective Sep 4, PIB will have DFW twice per day and MEI will have 1-DFW and 1-ORD daily.Jump to post
UA keeps trying to add a fifth ABQ IAH but then it gets dropped before it starts. May be the case with other IAH markets as well.Jump to post
When is, or was, Alaska due to start taking deliveries of MAX?Jump to post
Per Boutique's website, yes they are moving MCE-OAK to SMF starting May 15. I found the 1.2 frequency rather odd, they run a second roundtrip on late Sunday night.Jump to post
Taos Air will resume service this summer from June 27 thru Sep 22 with the same schedule; flights to Austin and Dallas Love on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.Jump to post
Two AA*/Mesa CRJ-900's, N939LR and N942LR, went to ROW last week and reportedly came out repainted with a Mesa Airlines scheme. Hopefully its a retro scheme and not something entirely new. Any spotters, especially in DFW or PHX, that can get some photos of these aircraft, please do it!Jump to post
GP-Express (not Pioneer) ran a large Continental Connection (not CO Express) operation from 1994 through 1996 including the famous "river route", DEN-BFF-LBF-GRI-LNK-OMA. Ironically, after CO dismantled DEN as a hub in 1994, GP-Express kept on running a rather large DEN operation as CO* fo...Jump to post
Looks like a major crosswind. The winds in ELP (not far from CUU) were gusting to 70 on Apr 10. That same storm system is burying the upper Midwest in snow now.Jump to post
4A, California Pacific, shut down a couple months ago. I think we can ignore all of their cutbacks as they've already happened.
Enilria, kudos to you each and every week!
Northwest tried ELP-MSP around 2000. Don't think it lasted a year.Jump to post
Does anyone have record of how many times DL has tried SLC-ELP? At first it was SLC-ABQ-ELP (with 727-200s) when they merged with WA in 1987. Its been off and on with a nonstop RJ ever since.Jump to post
Re: 4B AIA-CDR May 0.9>0.4 [1.7], 4B will be pulling out of AIA on 5/1 as KG won the EAS contract to DEN.Jump to post
If you're going to throw a dart at east Texas, I would have aimed for GGG. Its more centered in the TYR, SHV, TXK area plus GGG has a nice 10000ft runway. This is cool, hope it works.
I remember when the old Frontier did ABI-MAF-DEN with 737-200s in 1983, didn't last long though.
Re: Who is AN? in post 31:
AN is Advanced Air, a new commuter to the industry that recently won the EAS service to Silver City, NM. They keep announcing plans to start other routes but then cancel them before they start.
On AA's Jun 6 skd, ELP will get an A321 on their 1430 DFW trip and ABQ will get another shot of an MD-80 on the 1035 DFW trip. Thought we saw our last MD-80 last summer but will get to enjoy it again this summer.Jump to post
I was hoping it would be a Transwestern Airlines of Utah, a Horizon merger from 1983. Very nice though. We need lots more of these retros, commuter airlines too. (Mesa--that's a hint for you).Jump to post
Advanced Air also said they would begin a weekend flight between ABQ and BUR in January. That hasn't happened yet.Jump to post
Toledo is one of those cities that has been severely affected by its close proximity to a major hub, DTW. In the 80's and 90's TOL was served by AA, CO, DL, FL, NW, PI, RC, TW, UA, US and other legacy carriers. By the early 2010's, only American Eagle with only 3 flights per day to ORD there for awh...Jump to post
Good catch on IPL, my bad. Sure hope OO continues their bidding for more markets. CVN-DFW sure could use jets (sorry Boutique).Jump to post
A few other EAS jet service markets not served by SkyWest include:
American: GCK and ALO (Envoy), ART (Piedmont), and JLN however I have heard that AA is rebidding JLN subsidy free.
United: PQI (Commutair)
Ultimate Jet Charters: MBL
The other 2 EAS prop markets are served by a newcomer, Advanced Air, which got Silver City, NM to ABQ and PHX on Jan 5. Thanks knope2001 for figuring out the MSS and OGS skds.Jump to post
Looks like UA*/OO begins PIR and ATY on Apr 3: Daily schedule looks like this:
MSS and OGS begin May 3, I could only find flt. 5140 ORD-OGS-MSS-IAD, 5164 IAD-OGS, and 5125 OGS-ORD, doesn't look like that's all loaded in UA's website yet.
Amazing how Great Lakes was such a successful airline in the 1990s and 2000s. But they never went to the next level with RJ's. Had they done so, we can only imagine what they'd be like now. Could have been up there with the likes of SkyWest or Envoy. But instead, they are no more.Jump to post
The Advanced Air (AN) markets, ABQ-SVC, PHX-SVC, actually began on Jan 5. No real change here.Jump to post
