The ceilings are lifted in a diagonal so that the high point is above the windows at the seating areas. There were more windows added which shifted some concessions and other things around. Big new gate signs that you can see from far away, new bigger TVs with the gate boards on them, etc. C got a n...Jump to post
Axiom/Bigelow is likely going to create the ISS replacement. Bigelow has the expandable module on the ISS right now that inflates/deflates to save space. One of the images in the thread looks like a rendering of it. Roscosmos wants out and since Zvezda and Zarya basically run the station, we're kind...Jump to post
I scratch my head at carriers flying to TVC from the likes of BOS and LGA. I've lived in the Chicago area all of my life, so towns around Traverse City and Mackinaw Island are popular with people from Chicago. I also went to college in Ann Arbor. So that part of Michigan is popular with people livi...Jump to post
I actually watched this also, as I am a Wendover subscriber and saw it before seeing this thread. I love that channel. Epic fail at not realiIng the the weather patterns in the location, but it seems like that may have been the only location with enough land. Also wondered if there was any traffic g...Jump to post
NW747-400 wrote:It’s actually all of the domestic 752 fleet now. The 75D/G/H are all configured with 15 Y+ forward of the 2L boarding door.
The 75S and 753 are the only 757’s remaining with premium class only in front of 2L.
On DL planes, there is one 757 configuration that has Y class when you turn left, so holding the Y passengers would be awkward there. That one has Comfort+ before F. I think those are the 75H - the 5600 series PMNW birds and some others. N5**US. I know they fly West Coast-Hawaii among other routes....Jump to post
Inboards for departures and outer for landings and 10/28 is usually used for landings. In 10 years I have only ever used 28 for a takeoff once. I’ve seen 380 or 747F land on 9L if it’s raining or they are extra heavy, etc. Anyone more local know when the hotel is getting torn down? Was it a Sheraton...Jump to post
I’m a grown man looking at a career change into aviation but I’ll stay in education and referee adolescents who act like this before I’ll get around airplane folks who do. This place is supposed to be an enlightenment but lately it’s just a pissing match. Some of the posters on this board need to wo...Jump to post
Any reason why 2 MD88s to go out to SBD this past month are listed as temp storage? 9013 & 915? Is it a mismatch of airframes versus engines that still have green time left? There were a couple of MD-90s stored that were supposed to RTS at the beginning of 2020, and with the decision to now scr...Jump to post
Could they have pulled the contract of the developer who envisioned the Westin Hotel? Can we get in the way back machine and make that happen?Jump to post
It’s a claustrophobic mess at baggage claim with the temporary walls up. Plus, I ripped a wheel off my rollaboard on a loose automatic door threshold transition the last time I went through. Just my experience...security was fast, though.Jump to post
Did CHS have a flight kitchen prior to the BA flight? No, they didn't. The kitchen was built out of the former Porsche warehouse at the end of....Porsche Blvd. It's the building to the right of the chevrons/threshhold of Rwy 3. The news said about 25 employees and 1000ish meals for the 2 flights pe...Jump to post
My money is on 808, etc because of how a certain part of the world falsely believes 8 is a lucky number. HA would be all over that one. The domestic 763s started leaving when the 321s arrived, right?
I have taken N140LL to and from LAX many times. My namesake aircraft ended up on timber at MZJ over the summer. Wondering if she has been completely cut up yet. I'd love a keychain out of the skin. Cmon, Delta...

I've stared at this piece of the wreckage for a good 10 clock minutes trying to figure out what part of the airplane it is from. Which 767 driver here can shed some light?
I live in Beaufort, and I fly CHS moreso now than SAV because the prices are competitively lower. However, parking is expensive in CHS and travel time is 75+ mins. SAV is 45 and if I time it right, I can make it in 35 minutes without traffic. They have a $5 parking lot. Granted, I fly AS nonstop CHS...Jump to post
Two of them were the last 757's built. Surely they have a value for further use... The last 757 built, LN 1050, is an ex-Shanghai aircraft now operating with Delta as ship 6823. The last two 757's built, LN 1049/1050, were both for FM and are both with DL now. MF had the 3rd/4th to last 757's built...Jump to post

Unless I lived on island, I’d use SAV. Getting on or off the island is a nightmare. I live in Beaufort and can be door to door at SAV in 37 minutes. It would take me a solid 50 to get to HHH, even though it’s closer.Jump to post
I just heard that the storm system is going to stall and linger for days. How bad would that be for the affected areas ? The continental shelf is shallow in the Carolinas so storm surge will be a major problem with a strong hurricane which has been strong for days by the time it reaches shore. Its ...Jump to post
Wondering what Gulfstream will be doing at SAV in preparation since the storm is supposed to now slide down the coast and sit there.Jump to post
Dear fellow nutters, I am flying FRA-ATL on LH444 this Sunday. Or could it be that I‘m not? That’s exactly when whatever’s left of Florence could be there. Is there a rule, when will major airports seize operations due to weather? You should be fine. ATL is far enough out of the way. CLT, on the ot...Jump to post
Too early to say. Would say no decision would be made until Wednesday at the earliest when a tighter projection cone is available. Right now projections show the cone could move far enough north that CHS would be unaffected. Of bigger concern is Spirit's facility in North Carolina at Kinston There ...Jump to post
I've had to take a back seat from photographing the 787 operations at Boeing South Carolina. They really hate photographers. Been stopped too many times. But I'd like your opinions of what Boeing might do with the aircraft that are flight worthy. Would they fly them out? What about the aircraft tha...Jump to post
ILM and to a lesser extent, MYR, are in the crosshairs as of right now. Largest major airport that may be affected by lots of rain and some wind would probably be BWI, but I don't have a map in front of me as I play armchair meteorologist today (:Jump to post
The 744, DC95, and 757 fleets are there, including the 757 that were not painted into DL livery. Someone correct me but I also think the cargo 742s are there as well. I remember seeing pics of the DC93 and DC94 flwet without engines at SFB. No idea about M80s. Where did the just retired M90 and 320s...Jump to post
Looks like one of these aircraft N649DL used to have winglets installed and doesn't anymore. I wonder what's the reason for this. 649 is a 75C, used for charter. They had a mix of winglet and non-winglet frames and all were removed for consistency according to a previous thread. Not sure of the tru...Jump to post
Deltas been bringing their 737-700 and MD-88s down there lately that services ATL for a bit. Or at least couple of months when I first found out that they did. AA gave up the US gates - 12 & 14 to consolidate at 4, 6, and 8?
DL had 11, 13, and 15, and took over 14. Who uses 12? SY?
B6 has 7 & 9?
UA has 3 & 5?
AC has 10
Gate 1 isn't used because security extends through it, right? How about Gate 2?
What gate is F9 getting?
DL has labels inside the bins for F and Y+ that say they are reserved for those passengers only. They have had them for at least a year. They also tell you that you will not be getting bin space in the final boarding group and offer to gate check it, but that defeats the purpose.Jump to post

This is not unheard of. Definitely a positioning flight. Happens with all the majors.
