Way off. That’s probably just the enplanement number. SFO Int’l traffic grew another 10% in 2019 and is 4th for Int’l traffic after JFK, LAX and MIA.

This is not a failure on the part of OAK. The two airports are extensions of one another. OAK is really the LCC terminal for the CSA like it or not. Everyone will survive... SJC’s mission is a bit different...

It says daily from March 29, 2020. Two daily flights, one each to HND and NRT. I do hope this has an impact on fares. We have a son in Tokyo and nonstops to either airport (from SFO or SJC) run around $2500 consistently vs. a multitude of one-stop options for $600-$800 r/t, including SQ via LAX.

LAX and SFO will eventually each have 10/wk nonstop to Singapore and daily to Hong Kong (SFO) and Tokyo (LAX) so 34 weekly between the two. The Seoul flight will he dropped.

Unless its NYC, Tokyo, London, Moscow, Seoul they don't pay $200 a night. The airlines buy large numbers of rooms and get huge volume discounts. They pay a fraction of what you pay as a retail walk-up customer. If they wanted to save money they could open their own hotel like B6 has in Orlando, but...

No new runways. Current runway configuration along with terminal expansions will allow SFO to grow to around 80 million pax. OAK and SJC have multi-billion dollar expansion studies of their own. When it gets to that point we’ll see SFO take on a role similar to that of JFK...
