Apparently the Burger King in the atrium has been closed since early February due to another fire. That’s 2 fires in less than 2 years. The last fire closed it for nearly a year. Maybe it’s time for something else in that space?

CLT expects to hit 60 million pax this year
Nice to see them start PNS. Wonder if it could be the start of a larger presence there given the success of G4 at VPS and a rumored G4 focus city coming to Gulf Shores when that airport finally opens to commercial traffic. I could also see Beeeze at ECP too.
Jump to postHas Sun Country ever considered a name change? I get the original premise of being a vacation airline from MSP to warm destinations, but flights like MSP-CMH don’t necessarily evoke “sun country “ destination to me. Plus the name is not recognizable outside MSP. It’s no wonder why STL didn’t pan out...
Jump to postHow many flights will AA run a day this summer at PHL? Currently the website shows roughly 225 a day, pre pandemic it was around 400.
Jump to postAmerican will be offering mainline Airbus A319 flights from CID to ORD this summer. First time in 30 years AA has had a mainline flight through ORD that’s quite impressive. Americans market share at CID has leaped to #1 at 36% well ahead of Allegiant and United who are 2 and 3 at about 24 and 23 per...
Jump to postAt one time LAL was in talks about landing an American Eagle flight to CLT. Does anyone know if they are still trying for this or if they have dropped it?
Jump to postNice to see some capacity come back to DTW. I wonder if that will push them back over 300 daily flights? Does anyone have a flight count for this summer or is the schedule still tentative? Hoping to see markets like CID and MLI come back online to DTW as well.
Jump to postSome AA notes-
CID is getting AA mainline beginning in June 1x A319 to supplement other flights on E75 and CRJ
RST and LSE get some upgrades to E75 aircraft.
Nice to see AA beef up ORD

Jump to postLooks like some mainline additions coming to Ohare in June. I’m seeing CID (Cedar Rapids getting the A319) and GRR (Grand Rapids getting a B738). Any others out there?
Jump to postGlad to see the E renovation start, badly needed there. The new section on the north end is nice, will be nice to see it all tie in. I think all gates now have jet bridges if I heard correct? No more outside boarding?
Jump to postNice upgrade for COU. I’m surprised they haven’t started CLT flights from there yet, maybe someday.
Jump to postTYS is the gateway to the Smoky Mountains…it’s become increasingly popular and lots to do there. Flights make sense.
Jump to postThe only viable options for a true SE hub IMO are BNA and RDU. RDU might be too close to IAD but then again CLT is relatively close to DCA. MCO would have to be my only other guess if they try to do a MIA type AA hub and if they smell blood in the water with B6/NK/F9 struggling. Interesting to ponde...
Jump to postHave any of the Mesa CR9s been painted into UA colors yet?
Jump to postPersonally I hope to see them build
MSP and DTW back up and reinstate any spokes that were discontinued during covid and pilot shortage.
You gotta book early with miles, I got a round trip for 12k miles CID-PNS for this February and I booked back in April
Jump to postDidn’t AA tout doing 900 daily flights back in 2019 from DFW in an expansion back then? I’m pretty sure they did. 850 is no slouch but I don’t think it’s the most flights ever. Are there any other stations they could connect that don’t currently have service? RST, GRB and ATW come to mind. I wonder ...
Jump to postI remember taking a CRJ from MSP to Pensacola on NW back in 2005. Long ride but I was happy to skip and second connection in MEM. (My routing always used to be CID-MSP-MEM-PNS for a few years from 98-2004). I remember when they upgraded MEM-PNS to a CRJ from the Saab that was heaven! Those Saabs wer...
Jump to postWith a 40% increase in operations from todays 330 ish flights DL will definitely get above 400 daily flights to around 450. Good to see. Hoping to see more frequency in close in Midwest markets (my hometown CID is down to 2 E75 a day) and maybe some markets like MLI who lost MSP altogether will come...
Jump to postIs the reason they are planning a half F is because they are adding gates at C when it is renovated?
Jump to postNice to see DL add some routes back. Would love to see them top 400 a day like it was pre pandemic. More flight and connection opportunities.
Jump to postGlad to see MSP and DTW get some flights back hopefully it continues!
Jump to postHow many flights a day is AA at with ORD? Was it like 330ish? I believe they were around 500 pre covid. Wonder if they plan to ramp up PHL also?
Jump to postIs AA’s schedule pretty well set out until 2/14/24? I have flights 2/21 - 3/2 and was just curious when the next schedule extension takes place
Jump to postWasn’t the satellite concourse to be opened today? I see Allegiant will be using it starting Saturday. Any pics of it?
Jump to postNice to see a station that is truly underserved like SPI get some service. Hopefully it works out and could be a push into more midwestern markets
Jump to postJust got back from BNA and all I can say is wow the changes to the main terminal are really great and they have a great variety of stores and restaurants. Excited to see Hattie Bs is opening up there too. I can tell the new satellite gates are definitely needed, concourse B was a madhouse, I thought...
Jump to postDL doesn’t need any more focus cities and needs to beef up MSP and DTW with frequencies and possibly some routes they dropped there. My 2 cents.
Jump to postJust wondering, how far out is AAs schedule currently that if I booked something it would be a certainty. Last I heard the schedule was out to 12/4/23
Jump to postI’m really surprised they are doing CID-MSN that’s an easy drive up 151 2.5 hours or even less from Marion or NE side.
Jump to postYikes not sure how long that will
Last at this rate. If you can’t even fill a plane to Florida these days you have problems. LNK might have been better to seek out service from Allegiant/Breeze/Avelo. Or Even AA to Dallas.
I wonder what the “jaw dropping” destination to be announced later would be? CUN maybe? Can LNK process international flights? I suppose if they couldn’t they could stop for customs somewhere on the return flight?
Jump to postFor the first time in a long time, as of October CID will have no 50 seat planes. Everything is CR7 or above. It does look like United adds a CRJ back in the November schedule but that could be subject to change. I just looked at the new extended schedule on American through 12/4 and it’s impressive...
Jump to postThe main reason why NW continued and maintained a hub there was basically Fed Ex made the costs so low. Historically before that it was a transportation hub as others mentioned like its neighbor to the north St Louis and was pretty much the last viable city at the time for a SE hub after ATL and CLT...
Jump to postDCA-FSD feels like a route we'll see AA add at some point in the not too distant future. Why do you think AA is going to add service from DCA to Sioux Falls, SD sometime soon? Their service to CLT is only seasonal as is DL's to ATL and those are much larger hubs. That route would tie up a plane and...
Jump to postNow that Delta is on the way to recovery I wonder what the next five to ten years look like network wise. One thing that comes to mind with premium leisure travel being of growing importance is the network will have more seasonal demand spikes when these leisure travelers do or do not travel. Certa...
Jump to postI have to think ICT-CLT will be added at some point. Pretty much every decent sized city in the region has CLT service like TUL OKC XNA and SGF
Jump to postWow 2 new routes at CID in a week that’s awesome!
I also just saw where MLI announced CLT flights beginning in December. That should help passenger numbers rebound somewhat with the loss of MSP and DTW from DL.
Looks like the folks at MLI are in the process of announcing new service to CLT on AA beginning December 20. AA connecting a few more midwest dots to CLT? Have they served it before (pre-pandemic)? Just curious if they're rebuilding old routes or if this is new. Mainly curious because I'm hoping fo...
Jump to postSounds like new route announcements…or could be announcing the new 737 routes
Jump to postFlew ORD-DCA on AA this Tuesday and the AA side of the airport was insanely quiet, especially the H/K Concourse. It was mid day on a Holiday and pretty much the only flights departing within an hour or so as my flight were flights to other hub cities (MIA/JFK/PHL/CLT/DFW specifically). Pretty sure ...
Jump to postNice PHX adds, I’m still surprised they haven’t started a CLT-ICT flight, seems like that would be a logical route for eastbound traffic and provide some one stop connections that can’t be done through DFW.
Jump to postGlad to see Avelo working out at DBQ. They have such a nice new terminal I’m glad to see it’s being utilized even if flights are 2 days a week. I know they are working on trying to gain back legacy service. DL definitely isn’t adding anything to the Midwest right now so that’s definitely out. Best b...
Jump to postDo they sell Nashville only packages? Or are there any for the smoky mountains via BNA? Wondering if they get an enough revenue from packages/hotels/car rentals at BNA that keep flights going. I can only speak from my experience but I’ve taken the flight from CID before and it was pretty full and I ...
