Re: Updated: BA fleet parking, will retire 747 fleet

6th Aug 15:00 UK time

G-XLEK appears to be flying as BA9176 CHR-LHR (per FR24).

[EDIT: Upon further investigation into CHR movements, it appears that this is not an exciting return of the BA long haul fleet, but that a number of BA 380’s have made similar trips CHR-LHR-CHR over the past weeks.]

Re: British Airways route updates

Well I’ve today had my 747 flight in mid-Nov and A380 return flight early December cancelled by BA. So despite the published schedule, looks like they aren’t planning on taking passengers to or from the USA for the next 4 months.

Re: Boeing 747-400 Passenger Fleet Tracking/Retirements Thread - 2020

I wonder how the farewells for the AF A380 would have turned out had it not been for COVID... I been thinking the same about British Airways and the 747-400 for weeks now. For an airline struggling to make money, and having to keep pilot currency in order to fly the 747s off to wherever they’ll end...

Re: Inching towards a collapse of the leasing industry

I mean, so what if a few leasing companies fail? It's not as if the aircraft go 'poof' at midnight with the restructuring filing. They will still have aircraft. They will still have a stream of income due. Aircraft assets are among the easiest things to repossess - they self-transport!, and there's...

Re: Updated: BA fleet parking, at 40+ including 747s, A380s

Get the bucket list 744 nose and upper deck flights flown while you can. Sad to think the BA 747 days could be done even sooner. Had both booked this year. August was a LHR-IAD-LHR trip in the nose (return on A350 in the new suite) and then a trip LHR-LAX-LHR flying the upper deck on way out (B789 ...
