Re: British Airways News and Discussion - 2023

The on time departure of the A380's this last 6 weeks have been woeful, is it all due to maintenance problems? Pretty much. The A380 dispatch reliability since they've been brought back from covid has been awful (not that it was brilliant before covid either!), so much so they've taken a line of A3...

Re: British Airways News and Discussion - 2023

Speaking of A380s, sounds like plans moving forward to refit cabins. Hundreds of millions of pounds will be spent refitting BA’s 12 A380 double-decker superjumbos. This is an aircraft so popular with passengers that most airlines make it their flagship — but, under Cruz, it became BA’s most dated j...

I have to say I have been very (and surprisingly) impressed by BA of late. Crew have been uniformly helpful and friendly; and while the Club Suites may be getting the glory, I actually find the shoebox seating in the older aircraft just as, if not more, comfortable. The doors in the Club Suites are ...

Very interesting thread. I would say one exception would be the A310- where the A310-300 especially had significantly more range than the A300 and the A300 never really caught up to its small sister. the A300/A310 were my favorite aircraft in the day- there was something so sleek and modern about th...

Apologies if this was discussed earlier and I missed it-- but what is the plan for Qatar's grounded A350s? I saw at least 15 of them parked next to each other in Doha last month. Are they going to be repaired? Repainted? It is a shame for such new jets to be sitting idling.

Re: EWR Runway problems

LHR is its own behemoth. But the LHR runways are also much further apart from each other so you can do simultaneous landings which I think you can't fully do at EWR. Also so much capacity is wasted at EWR due to regional jets. One argument is to limit the use/frequency of aircraft under 120 seats. B...

I am not a pilot but still - find this incredibly hard to believe that something like this can happen. Exactly. Korean Air is a good example. One thing I still don't fully get is why so many airlines are getting the 787 AND the 350. Yes, there are some differences and they're not exactly the same size but the 787-9 and A350 seem to do largely the same things, no?
