Re: Is the 787-10 failure or underestimated

It’s a great plane the range is just lacking that’s the only thing holding it back. Holding it back from what? It does exactly what it was desigined to do...deliver incredible CASM and Cargo capabiltiy for routes around 5,000 (of which there are many). It is more for routes around 4,000. Still, the...

Re: SAS opens a new long-haul route to the USA. Will fly from Copenhagen to Atlanta

CPH is well placed for Germany too. It’s not always about location though. The amount of people I’ve meet who’ve flown to the US from Europe (Scandinavia) via Istanbul with Turkish always surprises me. CPH is a smaller airport also so the experience can be more pleasant for some. When I flew Finnai...

Will we see any changes in service between the US and ARN? Seems like CPH is the better hub for European connections outside Scandinavia, but Sweden has demand of its own and I wonder what the plan is for SK at their other major hub. Too many people looking at this unidirectionally. It's a pain in the butt to get from the southeastern USA to Scandinavia. DL has a very limited presence in the Nordic countries. This will help greatly. Actually, CPH hardly offers any new connections compared to what's already offered from AMS. New...

Are you suggesting early A330-330s struggle to do <4,000 NM routes? That's not even SEA-NRT. Where DID NW plan to use them? Did they have to go out payload-optimized even for SEA/SFO-NRT? Without knowing the specifics of the NW A330-300s, the early A330-300s were a lot less capable than the ones th...

Purely anecdotal here, but with some informed participants: I've chatted with some people involved with the A339 at DL (mainly pilots and ops-not dispatch) and the plane seems to have some runway/takeoff performance weaknesses when heavy. 1. I'm surprised how the 359 and 35K are hauling more pax than the 10-abreast 77E and 77W! I always looked at the 359 as a similar-sized plane to the 77E, and the 35K as slightly smaller than the 77W.
