F1: European GP

I really don't want to see Schumacher win. Jenson is in danger of becoming another 'nearly man' of F1, so it would be great to see him do well. Ideal race: McLarens take themselves out at the first corner, Jenson pulls some nice moves on Alonso to take first, Alonso second, Fisi third. Would be good...

Crashes Per Aircraft Type As Percentage

I read somewhere yesterday that the Armavia A320 that crashed in the Black Sea was the 6th A320 to crash out of 2,750 manufactured. As a percentage this is 0.218. Does anyone have figures for: A318, A319, A321 A330 - 0? A340 737 747 757 767 777 - 0 Concorde - High, for obvious reasons. And I'm not w...

Uproar: EasyJet Departs Without Anyone's Baggage

Saw this in yesterdays Independent: <i> Nearly 200 angry easyJet passengers on a cut-price trip to Italy did not expect "no frills" to mean "no baggage". Travellers were left without their luggage after the company insisted that the flight should take off with an empty hold. Customers besieged check...

RE: The Independent... Two Fingers To The Queen

In 2006 I am astounded that we still have the Queen as our head of State and fork out millions of pounds (50p for every man, woman and child in this country per year = £30m) of hard earned taxpayers money on her and her family that I believe could be better spent elsewhere. In my mind ‘the royals’ h...

Anyone seen the front cover of today's (Friday) Independent? With all the hype of the Queen's 80th today all over the media and the papers, the left-wing Independent has chosen to place a massive photo of the king of Nepal on the front page, in full royal dress, standing in front of his throne. Page...

Suppose two identical 747s roll off the production line, I mean identical in every respect - seating config, equipment, etc. What is the weight difference? Are we talking grams, kilos or nothing? I imagine welding would make a difference, but just curious how much.

Hi, I Just got back from Oz, spent 10 days there for a wedding and loved it. Anyway I want to go back at the beginning of June for around a year. I've been on a few of the major booking sights, but thought I'd just ask here for the best option. Most of them won't allow you to book into 2007, and a o...

I don't like it. I think it looks too sharp and dated. I do genuinely prefer Airbus noses, they look more modern and aesthetically pleasing.
