Perhaps it is because they paint the plane white first and then add additional coats for each color? AA does save money with their aluminum scheme. That has been written about extensively.

Doesn't this whole decision prove that the original NLRB claim was bogus? After all, if all the crimes were committed that the IAM claimed why would they back-off? Or is this a case of quid-pro-quo?
