Re: Japanese official suggests ANA-JAL merger

I doubt this will happen but who knows what's for certain in the post-COVID aviation industry. IF this would happen (and I highly doubt it) I wouldn’t be surprised that this would be some sort of Continental/United kind of merger: ANA surviving but with the JAL name. The farrago of the UA/CO merger ...

Re: Should Boeing have built the 747-500?

It is an interesting question to pose. For one, it would have come out sooner than the 748 and avoided the dry-up of VLA demand. Ergo, it could have been used to replace older flying 742s and 741s. Therefore, orders could have definitely been higher than the 748. However, Increased total orders for ...

Re: Airbus and United continue talks on 321LR/330

Increasing the order is more of a formality. We don't know the details of the order. It very well could have been a change that makes it easier to convert the order to a different model. The fact that UA delayed the first delivery out to 2022 tells us they are in no hurry to get the A350 on the pro...

Why would they do that? Airbus already owns the ATR brand. Speaking of which, I suppose it would make sense for Airbus to ditch the ATR brand and bring it under the A2xx or a new A1xx series in the interests of commonality. Then again, that would require Leonardo S.p.A. to be onboard with the propo...

Never would I fly this route on something that only has 2 engines. I think this is a crash that is only waiting to.happen. It’s just a matter of time. You're going to be waiting a very, very, very long time if you think that the safest mode of travel is going to have a crash on a very specific route.

VLA's will shine due to the fact that they are not going to send a 2nd aircraft just with everybody's luggage. Passenger demand isn't what necessary determines the decisions of an airline. If you're bound to fill either a 77W or a 744 with an absolute 100% LF, the company is going to go with the on...
