747-8i (Pax version) Oxygen System

I know the 747-100 to the -400 uses oxygen bottles for the passenger version. Since there are only 3 airlines flying the -8i pax model, does anyone know if they use oxygen generators or bottles....this is strictly for the passenger version....not the freighters.

Has UPS removed the EFB's from the 747-400

I was looking at a pic of UPS N570UP, 747-400F and it has the dual Class 3 EFB's in the cockpit. It seems the newer 747-400's do not have the same EFB. Did UPS removed them and replace them with iPads on the 747-400F fleet.

The GPS signal being lost is due to the MMR's...not the actual GPS satellites. Like the previous post said, cycling the C.B works wonders.

Wonder how "Avatar Airlines" feels about Boeing closing the 747 line, heard they had grand plans to order 25 747-8i's They still keep advertising for various vacancies on Twitter. I believe their business plans are similar to "Baltia Airlines" of Michigan.

CALTECH....Personally, I thank you for showing proof in your pics. Someone (We know who) got called out on their smart ass comments about the upper beacon light flashing on the 777-9 first flight. In this forum on knowledgeable aviation enthusiasts, we knew we did not see that light flash... ..........

Forgot to add,,I know I was not seeing things when myself and other members did not see the upper beacon light and here you are saying there is an upper beacon light. Granted, there might be provisions for the light, but it wasn't flashing during the test flights.

Out of desperation.....started the topic...soon drifted into 737 max lights, 787 lights, city street lights, evolution of LED's, all without a definitive answer....frustration set in and reached to "the source". Lot of times this forum is excellent if people can stick to the point, this on...

Keep your cool A.net friends, I reached out to a source at Boeing and this was his reply..... None of the test frames have a top beacon. It has a testing sensor in that location and will be outfitted when rework is completed. Same thing happened on the 787’s and MAX test frames. Hope that clears the...

Any Boeing technicians who work the flight line on this forum...after 4 weeks, no answer to this burning question...all it takes is someone to notice whether there is an upper red beacon light flashing...newer tech 737 LED light inputs, LED evolution technology, 787 LED lights ...all no help... simp...

Seems like the cameras pick up the lower red beacon light just fine....unless the upper beacon flashes at a different rate which is highly unlikely.

Looks like there is something up there between the VHF antenna and the Sat Com, but after watching all the 777-9 videos, it does not seem to be operating...either burnt out or something else. Can't wait for the videos of the second 777-9 to surface!!!

Seems like we will have to wait to see the second 777-9 videos to come up with a conclusion....that is after reading all about city lights, evolution of LED's and other unrelated stuff.

There is a good possibility that it is indeed inop, however on overnight maintenance, technicians turn on all the lights and check them, the red beacons are very noticeable, especially when burnt out. Only time will tell………… either the Boeing techs. fix the upper beacon if they notice it, or we have...

I know KLM is one of the few airlines that specify having two nose wheel steering tillers on all their planes, even the ones that come standard with one like the 737, 757, 767. The only ones that come standard with two are the 747, 777 & 787. Any other airlines have two tillers. Thanks in advance.

What is the deal with the new freq. for CLE ground on 133.60 Mhz and approach control on 126.55 Mhz. Have they switched from 121.70 for ground and 124.0 for approach. The latest Jeppesen charts do not reflect this.
