Regarding the possible cause of the crash, i was wondering about the possibility of a catastrophic windshield failure, in this case. I know this is pure speculation, though. What would happen if a windshield would shatter to pieces in flight, and how the autopilot would react in such a case?<br/><br...

The time has come, for Bombardier to show something to potential customers. Bombardier must do what it takes to get orders in. It would be a big mistake to miss that opportunity.

Delta To Order 100 X 739ER (Part 1)

A lot of airlines (and probably Delta) are in a ''wait and see'' mode in regard to the Cseries. They're waiting for Bombardier to throw confirmed figures at them, performance wise, before they commit to the Cseries.

An interesting idea for Boeing, I think, would be to submit a shortened variant of the B777, the KC777SP. A KC777 less a ring or two. Could be a viable alternative for short runway performance. And if the price is right. Who knows?  <img src="/aviation-forums/graphics/smilies/dollarsign.gif" al...

Fair use excerpt: "Ideally, we'd like Airbus to stretch them because for the A380 to be really competitive it needs to be even bigger than it...

Airbus's Biggest Mistakes...

1: They should have built the A380-1000, first. Then the A380-900, and then, the A380-800.

2: They should have designed the A380F, as a front loader, instead of a side loader.

Any thoughts on that?  duck

The current EADS siamese, two headed management (French and German), is likely to lead the company to a shameful failure, in the long run. So wether its the Germans, or the French, EADS will have to pick one, to run the show. It's a matter of survival.

Boeing, is a well managed company. The price increase reflect the ever rising costs that's in effect in the industry(parts, supplies, raw materials.. etc.) They have bean counters too, just like Airbus. They make sure the company will remain profitable.
