Now, this will put some areas like Egypt/Turkey into quite some trouble cause they are depending on tourism from Russia, so I see them trying to somehow get those tourists there. But - even Russians will have issues going in mass to holidays abroad. Their credit cards will not work, they will have ...
Jump to postThere are severe implications currently for any airline which operates into Russia. First of all - insurance. I have seen that insurers will have issues with you flying into Russian territory and might revoke your insurance to fly in there. Secondly - lessors. After having so many planes literally s...
Jump to postWill only be successful in Russia. So far any attempts of Russian airplanes to be sold abroad failed on the absolutely horrible support, availability of spare parts and difficult maintenance. Jump to postToday Spirit so far cancelled 51% of their planned flights with another 11% being delayed. These guys are so lucky this did not happen to them in the EU as they would get bankrupt paying out compensations to the passengers.
Jump to postOverly aggressive schedule with not enough infrastructure in place for it to work unless things worked out perfectly. WN did the same thing in, what was it, June? Dunno, but this is about 40% of their flights which got cancelled today. This is a bit more than overly aggressive schedule. This is lik...
Jump to postCan you be more specific of how you end up in such an ops meltdown? This affects by far too much of the network and flights. People saying their staff at MCO walked out and there is very little info from the airline itself. This kind of ops meltdown seems much more like someone did not pay the bills...

Agreed, however you can't blame Avelo, other airlines have been down due to Radixx as well. Eastern Airlines, ZIPAIR, Air Belgium, I wonder how much compensation Radixx will offer their clients due to this. Very little. In general, the agreements of all providers are setting a cap of compensation t...
Jump to postUnlikely, the asset worth is still higher. Swiss, LH Technik and so on. He would probably regain quite a big part of his investment. Don´t think so. If the LH government bailout fails, also the OS government bailout is void. This means Austrian would bite the dust. They would send Brussels airlines...
Jump to postIf you listen carefully what LH Management has said these days, they know the deal with Germany will not happen, because Mr. Thiele will block it. Jump to postI've run into a problem then as the aircraft I was looking for was in the 10-50 seat count range. 70 seats I believe would be too much but as you say the airfare would be too high then making the route unprofitable. How come do you see it as an unrealistic model though may I ask? There are airlines...
Jump to postOk, I will try to give you some serious insight. First of all, you need to look at viability of your airline. So start working on a business plan, see what are all the costs you will have, not only direct operating but all the others. Its far more than airplane, fuel, pilots and some charges at the ...

Honestly, AUS is ready for more international routes, but .... I relocated here recently and I can tell you that getting here from Europe is not a great experience currently. Jump to postI think that this is not true. BTS with nearly 2 million pax is an alternative in 2 ways. Jump to postIMHO, it's a question of time Star Alliance TK would fly to BTS most likely from its IST hub or even SAW hub.. Jump to postWell, you are in general in a similar situation how many secondary airports all across Europe. Aeroflot : Premium carrier - top of the segment with higher quality service, higher fares
Rossiya: Middle of the market - reasonable prices and quality. Scheduled service but also large charter service
Pobeda: Low cost carrier - lowest fares on the market
Rossiya is apparently short of releasing a new livery, which will be used post merger with Orenair and Donavia. And just about on time, as the current one would look awfull on the ex-Transaero 747s.
