If I may quote myself... With that camera, you need to shoot planes that are 1. close to you, 2. not/slowly moving, and 3. well lit, on a sunny day in the morning or late afternoon with the sun at your back. I used a similar camera (Nikon S6000) for several years and had to follow all three of those...

Since you're talking about dpi I assume you're printing. Dpi is meaningless for digitally-displayed images. Leave the top, bottom, and right crop as is, bring in the left to just past the fairing. Distance from tip of vertical stabilizer to left edge of frame should be same as distance from tip of nose to right edge of frame.

They would all be rejected for motive, I presume. Good eye though, I especially like the third, even more so if the focus point was obvious and purposeful. The first frankly isn't that interesting. The second may have been acceptable if it was portrait format to include the nose gear and not backlit.

Thanks Evan, Kas. Was rejected on appeal for OS and low contrast. Did some selective sharpening and raised the contrast a bit. Also low in frame. But most importantly, it looks like you caught the fence you were shooting through on the left side of the frame, which unfortunately makes this one a non-starter.
