Re: IB6833 (MAD-SCL) diverted to TFS

That is what I was thinking; that they sent a reserve crew from Madrid. If so, hats off to Iberia for getting it done in such short notice. No way they got a replacement crew from Madrid to Tenerife in less than three hours. The flight time alone is close to three hours. Plus it was basically in th...

Re: IB6833 (MAD-SCL) diverted to TFS

I think they stayed on the ground only for little over 2 hours. If you take a closer look into the FR24 data you can see touch down was 03:57 UTC, arrival at gate 04:04. Push back was 06:10, take of at 06:19. Medical emergency sounds like a reasonable cause. Their total delay when arriving in SCL wa...

Hello, According to flightradar24 IB6833 MAD-SCL operated by an A340-600 (EC-LEU) has been diverted to Tenerife today in the early morning. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/ib6833#22a5a2f1 It is now on its way to Santiago: https://www.flightradar24.com/IBE6833/22a6584a Couldn't find any ne...

Thanks for this great trip report! I really enjoyed reading it.

Just one question: Are you sure that all of Iberia's A340-600 have the new flat bed J seats, because seatguru shows a variant (A340-600 V2) with 42 angle-flat seats. Thanks.

I am flying FRA-GRU next March and I was considering flying on LATAM Brasil in Business, if it has already the new Business class seats. Hard to find any exact information, this 3 year old thread is the best I could find. Seatguru lists two variants of the LATAM Brasil 777, both with angle flat seat...

Is it reasonable to assume that a similarly configured 789 will have a lower OEW given its smaller size relative to the A359? Absolutely. The 787 would not be a competitive aircraft if it were not lighter at a smaller size. In this thread http://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=776171 the OE...

As Starlionblue said, when you fly a great circle, it is a straight line and you would not need to bank. However, in reallity you are slightly banking al the time to maintain your heading, due to wind, turbulence etc. If you are following a latitude (that is not the equator), you are doing a cirlcle...

Why No A333 In Emirates' Fleet

I'm wondering why Emirates never had the A330-300 in its fleet. As far as I can tell, it would be a great plane for their shorter long haul routes up to 9 hours (all of Europe, intra-Asia (excluding Japan) and most of Africa). At the same size as the A340-300, it could fill the capacity gap between ...
